The ice cream was unknowingly sold from Roots Cafe in Newmarket, New Hampshire.

My dentist is right down the road from there. Glad I stop in for ice cream with the family after!

To be honest, after reading the article, it was not their fault. It was their supplier (Angelo's Amore) who fucked-up. But the story only shows a picture of the Roots Cafe sign. If I were them, I'd be pissed.

When I was a kid in the Boy Scouts, we were on a camping trip. (No, this is not a Canteen Boy kind of a story.)
The scoutmaster brought out a case of beer to the campfire one night. He passed them out to everybody and said to wait to open them at the same time.
We were all super excited that we were going to get to drink beer!
He gave a quick toast, we all opened our beers and took big swigs
to find out that the cans were filled with orange soda!

He worked for a packaging company. They tested the beer cans and production line with soda to emulate the pressurization.
That sonofabitch is probably still laughing at us.....

D'oh! That's him! His name is Blinky. But he's a three-eyed fish, not a three-legged fish. I have no idea why I said three-legged. Maybe I was thinking of the three-legged races that sometimes take place in summer at Verdugo Park in Glendale.

The expression is "bats in the belfry" – and there's a song for that. This is from Bang Bang, the second album by Dispatch, a group formed in 1996 by Middlebury College students Brad Corrigan, Chad Urmston and Pete Heimbold.

A belfry is "a bell tower, especially one surmounting or attached to another structure." The Merriam-Webster dictionary explains, "Surprisingly, belfry does not come from bell, and early belfries did not contain bells at all. Belfry comes from the Middle English berfrey, a term for a wooden tower used in medieval sieges. The structure could be rolled up to a fortification wall so that warriors hidden inside could storm the battlements. Over time, the term was applied to other types of shelters and towers, many of which had bells in them. This association of berfrey with bell towers seems to have influenced the dissimilation of the first r in berfrey to an l, and people began representing this pronunciation in writing with variants such as bellfray, belfrey and belfry (the last of which has become the standard spelling)."
