im watching the new season of transparent and it got me thinking. what tv role will jeffrey tambor be most remembered playing? now we have the current transparent that wins all sorts of awards and is lauded as sooooo progressive, arrested development that everyone loves as a great single cam comedy before its time, and finally we have the larry sanders show. another beloved show that lives on to this day with the famous "hey now!"

i guess im really wondering how much the stern show audience all knowing him for "hey now!" has an effect on his legacy considering he is known for many successful shows.

Jeffrey Tambor was brilliant as Hank, Larry's sidekick. Loved the episode when he successfully filled in for a sick Larry and got it in his head that he could replace Larry. He played it to perfection. Also, Hank's contract negotiations were very reminiscent of Jackie's. One of his demands was a personal golf cart to ride around the set.

What role will Jeffrey Tambor be most remembered playing?

With a guy like this, this much talent, it really depends on the demographic of the individual. I don't think there will be a single answer. It will depend on age, sense of humor, maybe even politics and wealth. (If you couldn't afford HBO, it won't be Hank. If you can't afford broadband/streaming, it's not "Transparent.")

thats my point. the larry sanders show began before my time and arrested development is one of my favorite comedies but because of the stern show when i think of him i think of that early 90s show first.

For me, it's Hank. "Hey now!" is just too catchy, catchier than "Hit 'em with the Hein," or even "Baba Booey!"

!!!!

the 49ers just scored their second touchdown, going up 14-0 over dallas and on the way out into the commercial the play by play guy (joe buck) dropped a HIT EM WITH THE HEIN! hahaha!

side note:

the main pic that pops up when you type joe buck into google is wonderful.

There's a commercial going around where it's a soundbyte of Howard asking Donald Trump if he treats women with respect and Donald's reply is basically "I can't say I have."

I feel like that "Donald and Howard" subject already was well-discussed, but I wonder what Howard thinks of that commercial.
