I'm reminded of a scene in the Marx Brothers' 1930 comedy Animal Crackers. Geoffrey Spalding (Groucho) and Emanuel Ravelli (Chico) are investigating the theft of a painting. Ravelli: "You ask yourself what happened and the answer comes back: Something was stolen. You ask what was stolen and the answer comes back: A painting. You ask where was it stolen and the answer comes back: In this house. Am I right so far?" Spalding: "Well, it's pretty hard to be wrong if you keep answering your own questions."
