One of the early questions in today’s regular episode, Northernmost point in the lower 48…. I was so confident it was Maine. And I’m usually really good with geography. Minnesota it is.

In any case, it seems that when you have a collection of super-good jeopardy players, the one who gets the daily doubles is going to run away with it.
And ironically, that's the part that involves luck. Certainly, being the first with a correct answer enables you to pick the next clue. But at this level, you're not going to lock-out the other players.
We haven't yet seen James play against Victoria. That will be good.

Another trick question is what is the USA's easternmost state? The answer of course is Alaska.
The Aleutian Islands cross over the 180 degree line. A lot of people pick a place in Maine. Only true if you use the term 'continental United States'.
I'm not buying it. Only the western most island, Attu, is beyond the 180 longitude. But it's still east of the international date line. So it's west relative to the rest of the world.
The eastern most point in the US is Lubec, Maine.

The common point where something switches from East to West is 180 degrees not the date line. By that definition, my answer is correct. And I did not make this up. You can google it if you wish. Your answer is also there with the term 'continental' added.
If a place is in an earlier time zone than me, it is west. An imaginary line makes no difference. A clock does.

It's the 180 degree line except where it crosses populated areas or countries/islands that don't want to have a date switch split them. The whole numbering is made up. They made 0 through London because it was the centre of the world at the time.Isn’t the clock based on a made up line

Newsflash! The 180 degree line is made up too. I'm pretty sure it's like the 1st down lines in football. Where they start the lines is arbitrary too. After all, the Earth is a sphere; there's no starting edge.
Why not consider that one shitty little island part of the rest of Alaska, instead of saying it's in another hemisphere, because some people drew imaginary lines on a paper map?
