Maybe I watch more commercial TV than most of you, but I'm seeing an explosion of ads for "whole body" deodorants.
Now I'm no odor historian, but I can say with confidence that deodorant has been around at least as long as me. Yet after all those decades, the entire marketing world just happened to converge on the same conclusion in the span of a month. Seems sketchy.
Don't you think that if something was fundamentally lacking in odor care, this would've been addressed during, say, the '80s? What is happening now that's causing advertisers to suddenly make this a thing?
And let me be clear. I don't care one way or the other. But the ads are all going for shock value by mentioning all sorts of gross things, like smelly folds and flaps, and references to private parts. And they feature flabby, pasty-looking people. You know, the ones that probably smell.
I'm sure Koop is most likely on this already, you know, after he "manscapes".
