On the subject of cool songs ... On Tuesday, the local FM does a thing they call the "Vinyl countdown" where they play 5 songs on vinyl matching a theme. The theme on Tuesday was the moon. When they played Bowie's space oddity they played the tapes of the apollo 11 takeoff during the instrumentals. It was quite cool.

The one with wheels was called the “lunar rover”. Apollo 15, 16 and 17 had those. The “Lunar Module” was the thing with four legs. Apollo 10-17 had those. 10’s didn’t land because it was a dress rehearsal. 13’s didn’t land because the mission was aborted.

The Lunar Module was originally called the “Lunar Excursion Module”, but they dropped the “excursion” because it sounded too much like going on a school trip or something.

The first commercial space hotel will be more like a cruise ship than Stanley Kubrick's sleek space station from 2001, says Tim Alatorre, senior design architect of the Von Braun Space Station.

If I could go to space for the same price it costs me to go to Disney every week I'd be there all the time.

"Eventually, going to space will just be another option people will pick for their vacation, just like going on a cruise, or going to Disney World," Alatorre told Dezeen.

In 20 minutes one of my bike team members (Jessica) is flying to the ISS.

We aren't friends but we've hung out. had beers and been in a pace line together. This is the most contact I've had with an astronaut.
