A University of Hawai'i professor named the black hole powehi, a word which means "adorned fathomless dark creation" and is part of the Kumulipo, an 18th-century chant telling the story of creation and the genealogy of Hawai'ian royalty. It is not an official name, however. Fans of the late Chris Cornell, writer and singer of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, want the black hole to be named for him. Sure, why not? While we're at it, we can also rename Mars "Bruno Mars" and rename Venus "Venus Williams."
