The Random Post Thread

A lot of shows were preempted or went into reruns, so we had less options. But we did watch more Only Murders and Bravo stuff to get away from the big O. And we went out more often.
The first week at my dad's cabin was easy. He does not own a TV (well he does but it is only hooked to his VCR (yes VHS VCR)). The second week I just avoided it.

Aww, IRBS, you could have watched the videotapes he recorded of Danger Bay, Katts & Dog, Night Heat, Seeing Things, The Campbells, The Beachcombers and DeGrassi Junior High. :D

I'm thinking of starting a thread called "Stories we have no interest in reading." This August 14 Newsweek headline would be my first entry:

Taylor Swift's former banjo player remembers being paid very well
Maybe it could be a sub-thread of Things that Nobody Needs.

SMH. Here is something somebody said today. I post it without comment, other than to say I'm not commenting. Oh wait, is that a comment?

"You can't walk across the street to get a loaf of bread. You get shot, you get mugged, you get raped. You've seen it and I've seen it."

The person who made that outageous claim was speaking outside the Livingston County Sheriff's Office in Howell, Michigan, and was flanked by two sheriff's deputies, neither of whom bothered to tell him he's full of.....well, you know.

In 2018, this person said, "If you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card. You need ID." I don't think he has ever bought groceries.

Wait, what? That’s crazy

This short made me smile today.

I watched today's Little League World Series championship game.
I'd caught pieces of a few games at the gym and various restaurants. I liked how they showed each member of the team with stop-motion animation of them and a bit of trivia about them like "favorite video game" or "favorite athlete". It was very well done.

Little League championship game play-by-play announcers Karl Ravech and Todd Frazier were the laziest and sloppiest I've ever heard. Among the words they used repeatedly: gonna (at least 50 times), goin', lookin', showin', throwin', tryin', hopin', movin', playin', runnin', swingin'. Hey, ABC, for next year please hire announcers who speak proper English!
