here are the article highlights:

Something for me to think about, with my daughter's wedding coming up this weekend.

heres my random thought of the day...that im too lazy to look up.

how is north korea smart enough to have the bomb but not smart enough to have a missile system that can launch it? i would assume making the bomb is the hard part.

I assume by "bomb" you mean nuclear weapon, which is basically material that can be obtained from a number of countries. Having stuff that explodes is fairly simple; making a power plant would be more difficult.

The DPRK has uranium mines and reactors capable of producing plutonium. They got help from the Soviets back in the 60s and 70s.

The science is all done. Everyone who wants to know how to make a bomb (or a rocket) knows or can find out online pretty easily. So it isn't a lack of smart people that's holding the DPRK or any other country back.

Atom bombs are easy. Good (efficient, compact, cheap) atom bombs are hard. To make an atom bomb all you need is a critical mass of fissile material in two chunks. Shoot one chunk into the other and you'll get a Hiroshima sized explosion.

Rockets are pretty hard. That actually is rocket science.

All of it takes wealth. You need materials, manufacturing, lots and lots of power, etc. and all that stuff costs money.

Do they really have the bomb or did Kim Jung Il or whatever his name is just say that? I know the other day he said he discover a cure for not only HIV, but cancer as well. The dude is loony tunes.
