I was all pumped and prepared to get tickets for Pearl Jam at Fenway Park, which went on sale at noon. First I got put into a 45 second "waiting line buffer" repeatedly for 15 minutes, and then I couldn't get 2 tickets together, and that's after repeatedly retrying once I got in. I guess the 5 Mil population of the Boston metro area, plus another 15 or 20 Mil in reasonable proximity, is just too much to go up against. Bummer.

It's a combination of Ticket Bastard and credit card company pre-sales, promoter give always, and the scalpers. It makes it impossible for civilians to score tickets anymore.

I saw a report on tv last month, that said by the time they go on sale, most are already gone. U2's last tour only had something like 25% of the seats available to the public. Taylor Swift only had something like 6%. It's supposed to be like that for most shows these days.

That's why you are better off going to see new bands that no one else knows about yet.
Yeah, that's what I usually do. I missed the boat on Pearl Jam, should've seen them back in the day, and I had resigned myself to not bothering with them. But the Fenway Park announcement pulled me back in.

It's still bullshit.
If I want to see someone, I want to see them.

I've found that you can google for pre-sale authorization codes for a band and buy tickets a couple of days early without having to wait for public tix to go on sale or have a particular credit card. It worked for the last Rush and Muse shows I saw. There's usually a couple of different ones floating around, and they have been ultra simple like "Premier" and "Drones" types of words.

You don't have to go to any unsavory sites to find them either.

I found out (too late) that Pearl Jam "Ten club" members got to buy tickets 5 days earlier. That seems to explain the total lack of tickets available to the general public.

Funny, part of what PJ was fighting TicketBastard over was to make it easy for anybody to get tickets to their shows.
I guess it's OK for their insiders.

i think its 14.

4 bananas = 4 and 2 coconuts = 2. in that last pic there is 1 coconut and 3 bananas, so 1+10+3=14.

You can't tell how many bananas there are, just how many are visible. There could be 20 bananas hiding back there.

hah by that logic both our answers are wrong. there could be any number of apples bananas or coconuts hiding.

Which makes it unanswerable. If we assume there's an answer, then the size or number of things doesn't matter, just their type. Any apples or parts of apples in an operand are 10, any bananas or parts are 4, coconuts are 2.

4 bananas = 4 and 2 half-coconuts = 2. in that last pic there is 1 half-coconut and 3 bananas, so 1+10+3=14.
FIFY.
You can't tell how many bananas there are, just how many are visible. There could be 20 bananas hiding back there.
Oh come on now, it's not a philosophical riddle, it's just math. Whatever's visible is all there is to it.
