Enter Sandman - Bluegrass style. You're welcome.
Slayer - Angel of Death on banjo
If it's nothing, try to buy up if it doesn't put you out.
You will notice the difference. Promise.
Then you could be a bass player like Casual.
Of course after garrotinig someone, you'd have to play for a prison band.
But hey, you'd have plenty of time to practice.
What's the price difference? All the Fender guys say the Squiers nowadays are as good quality-wise as the Mexican Fenders. The only thing I'd say about the Affinity Tele is that 1) it's thinner than a regular Tele by 1/4" I think, and 2) it's not string-through-body--the strings terminate at the bridge. That may not matter tone-wise, and probably doesn't, but there it is.
If you can--and I'm not one to say "for just X more you can get this"--but if you can, the Squier Standard Tele is the regular Tele thickness, is string-through-body, and (this is really the only thing that matters) the pickups are alnico and not ceramic. They're actually the same pickups as on the Fender MIM Standard Tele.
What's the price difference?
The strings thru body should increase sustain.
The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward the Ibanez, if it's still there. It's been a few weeks. If you're wavering between a Tele, Strat, and an Ibby, you really need to try them out. The Tele will be twangy. The Strat will have a wide tonal palette. The Ibby will probably sound pretty straight-up rock. If you don't like the Tele twang from that bridge pickup, then don't go that route.
This. Twang deluxe, especially with he maple neck. A Strat with a rosewood neck will give a broader range of tones. If you're wavering between a Tele, Strat, and an Ibby, you really need to try them out. The Tele will be twangy. I'm betting that the lefties don't move move really quickly. Anything that you get a chance to play first the better. I know the availability of lefties to try is very limited. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward the Ibanez, if it's still there. It's been a few weeks.
