Peanuts strip, October 2, 1950, showed Charlie Brown, Shermy and Patty. (Shermy's final appearance was June 15, 1969.) Snoopy debuted October 4, 1950. Violet Gray first appeared February 7, 1951. Schroeder debuted May 30, 1951. Lucy Van Pelt debuted March 3, 1952. Linus, her brother, was first mentioned on July 14, 1952, and made his first appearance on September 19.
Pig-Pen first appeared July 13, 1954. Charlie Brown's sister Sally was first mentioned in the May 26, 1959 strip and made her first appearance on August 23. Frieda, with her "naturally curly hair," debuted in 1961. Peppermint Patty (Patricia Reichardt) debuted in 1966 and the original Patty was phased out. Woodstock debuted in 1967 but wasn't named until 1970. Franklin debuted in 1968 and Marcie in 1971. Be sure to study all this. It will be part of your final exam.
