I was thinking from the first TV Christmas Special so Yes Pig-pen is missing but then we wouldn't be able to see the rest of the photo. Also Schroeder and Sally. But if we are talking the strip I think it would be more like just Charlie Brown, Shermie and the original Patty. No Lucy or even Snoopy.
I didn't realize that was Shermie in the picture. I thought that was Schroeder.

Maybe Koop can weigh-in on this?

The first Peanuts strip, October 2, 1950, showed Charlie Brown, Shermy and Patty. (Shermy's final appearance was June 15, 1969.) Snoopy debuted October 4, 1950. Violet Gray first appeared February 7, 1951. Schroeder debuted May 30, 1951. Lucy Van Pelt debuted March 3, 1952. Linus, her brother, was first mentioned on July 14, 1952, and made his first appearance on September 19.

Pig-Pen first appeared July 13, 1954. Charlie Brown's sister Sally was first mentioned in the May 26, 1959 strip and made her first appearance on August 23. Frieda, with her "naturally curly hair," debuted in 1961. Peppermint Patty (Patricia Reichardt) debuted in 1966 and the original Patty was phased out. Woodstock debuted in 1967 but wasn't named until 1970. Franklin debuted in 1968 and Marcie in 1971. Be sure to study all this. It will be part of your final exam.

And here is a "good news" story. Nobody in Dylan Chidick's family has ever gone to college. He will be the first to do so.

Roy first appeared in the strip June 11, 1965, when he and Charlie Brown met at summer camp. Both were lonesome and they became "temporary friends." Charles Schulz had been sent to summer camp many times when he was a child . He said he always dreaded it -- so Charlie Brown was forced to experience the same loneliness and discomfort Schulz felt. Good grief!
