The Dumb Dodo Thread

Good thing that they found a way of capturing stolen cars so that they don't get wrecked before they can be returned to the owners.
They probably know that once the car is stolen the owner probably wants a replacement car rather than a car which has been mistreated so this will help with that. The insurance company would likely total that.

Since it's a front-wheel-drive car, the rear axle (as you can see) does nothing except keep the wheels on. There's no steering or transmission parts on it. So perhaps they can just duct-tape it back on.

If my car got stolen and got wrecked like that. I would want a new vehicle.

I'm just waiting for the day for the criminal to outsmart the police by having this underneath underbody piece and see if the grabbling device can stop it.

That looks like one of those special edition Porsche 911 variants. I assume it's not your car?

Here's a picture of the underside of my model car. I also have the panels under.

Texas man broke into RSL stadium after hours — and stole a Diet Coke, charges say

A Texas man is facing felony charges accusing him of illegally entering the Real Salt Lake stadium, breaking into a refrigerator — and stealing a Diet Coke.

Sean Christian Matthews, 23, of Rockwall, Texas, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with causing property damage, a second-degree felony; and burglary, a third-degree felony.

About 3 a.m. Thursday, Sandy police responded to America First Field, 9256 S. State, home of Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals, on a report of a trespasser.

Officers found Matthews sitting in a chair in the north side of the stadium. He claimed he scaled a wall to get in, and then "used a pole, later identified as a retractable belt stanchion, to break into the refrigerator," according to a police booking affidavit. "Sean then explained that he took a Diet Coke from the refrigerator machine which he later found to be unlocked and accessible by sliding open the doors."

Police were later shown surveillance video of Matthews "throwing the retractable belt stanchion into the refrigerator twice and then placing the stanchion to the side. There is also (video) of Sean jumping the wall, and of Sean stealing a Diet Coke from the refrigerator," the affidavit states.

The cost of repairing the damage caused by Matthews is estimated at more than $17,000, according to charging documents.

I can imagine a conversation between Maxwell Smart and Agent 99: "Don't tell me the mike was still on." "The mike was still on, Max." "I asked you not to tell me that."

I'm on a mailing list for a Portsmouth NH events site. They send out letters every week or so. This was the most recent one; note the title:

Toopid!

If it was titled "Cool Ass I.C.E." It would be worth getting mad about.
With the subtitle talking about the cold weather, it's pretty obvious that it's not about the immigration fiasco.

With all the :poo: going on with I.C.E. the title should said "Cool as an ice cube".
