Sundials in most areas will not be correct on Sunday...

It's not going to be fun anymore. When I can't tease you guys having to change your clocks.

I personally don't care what go with as long I don't have to change my clock I am good. Only time I change my time is going to different time zones.

I've long thought we should just put the clock halfway between ST and DST and call it done. Some places, like Newfoundland are already on the "1/2 hour off from the rest of us" plan: UTC -3:30 / -2:30

As for the "always ST vs always DST" argument in relation to my solution here, it's like I tell my son... "Compromise: it's all about leaving both sides moderately disappointed."

NO. I don't give a rats ass about dark mornings. Its the gloomy evenings that suck with standard time.
First of all, your earliest sunset is over a half-hour later than mine, so "get over it". And how can you really be OK with a 9 am sunrise? I get that if you're accustomed to driving into work in the dark at 7 am (or whatever), it doesn't matter if it stays dark for another hour or another 2 hours. But the rest of society needs a sunrise. Kids are walking to school. People are working outside. It's just re-god-damned-diculous.

Oh, but you will, canine-breath! You think the entire country is going to permanently change to a fictitious "Future Time", while you remain the only state to stick with real time? No, you will have to move forward as well, so that we're all equally fucked-up.

I grew up in SK. I was able to walk to school in the dark. They have this invention called streetlights. Maybe they will come to your area soon enough.

How can I have a later sunset? I am further north than you. I think here it is light by 8AM at the worst time. 9AM should be just fine. It is dark by 5PM though.

I'm not moving forward, I'm living on PST right now.

I didn’t feel like googling this. Just because.

On the east coast, we had to set our clocks back at 2:00 am Sunday morning.
Is it also 2am in the other time zones, or is it 1am, 12am, and 11pm for everyone else?

So that means that 2 time zones next to each other share the same time for an hour.
That’s half the country that was at the same time for a few hours.
Yes, for a short period of time, those still up at 2AM will feel a connection to the timezone next to them In the spring you will be farther apart than usual for an hour.
