State of the Bubba Tonight 7pm Est 101

i got to listen today and i really enjoyed the state of the bubba. good stuff. i wish i had more time to listen to his regular show during the week. I'd like to see more weeknight shows given to the bubba crew every now and then.

If Adam is all that, it's odd that his radio show was cancelled but Bubba is picking up more markets. Good thing FM ratings mean jacksquat...

Maybe the mainstream likes NASCAR and wrestling.

Ya, the mainstream in Florida.

Adam's show was cancelled because the station changed format. Maybe it was the other talk shows that failed.

Oh well people are idiots. They would rather listen to Britney Spears singles rather than something smart and funny.

For the record, I like NASCAR and I'm in Canada. Wrestling? Not so much but I'm a UFC fan.

I agree with you on the fact that Adams show was cancelled because of the station and not necessarily his show. From what I was aware of though Frosty, Heidi, and Frank was #1, followed by Leykis at #2, and Carolla by #3, Conway and Friends #4 on that station alone. The midday show, Frosty Heidi and Frank had a big audience for the time slot.

Quit muddying up the argument with facts. Obviously, they decided to switch to Top 40 DESPITE the great ratings... :lol:

Howard was able to keep stations with shitty music ratings in the Top spots...

Oh no doubt. The station as a whole I'm sure had lower ratings since Howard left. But this idea that because Carolla was a morning show it had to be the ratings king on the station is false.

Ok. Back to Bubba :)

Well, you might not have agreed with Adam's take on NASCAR, but Adam did have tons of UFC guys on all the time. I wasn't into that part of his show, but Adam always managed to make their segments entertaining enough.
 
Saying Bubba is all NASCAR and Wrestling is about as accurate as saying Howard is all about Sal and Richard's gay antics. It is sometimes part of the show, but not the main content. It's just a common attack for non-listeners. The only wrestling talk, other than about a local HS wrestler who is career-undefeated, is pretty much with Hootie and is some of the best radio going on today! Nothing is better than The Hulkster's old wrestling stories cuz he tells it like it is and doesn't hide details to cover someone's ass. They follow UFC a lot more than Wrestling and have good connections with a lot of the stars of the sport.

As for NASCAR, it's not a huge part, especially since Tony Stewart was banned from going on by his team owner. Hopefully that will change soon as well. Like Hogan, Stewart isn't afraid to tell stories and is pretty damn funny.

Like Howard interviewing rap stars, you don't have to be totally into whatever the guest does to be able to appreciate a good story.

There's the matter of Bubba being locked in for another two years with his Sirius contract. So he's not going anywhere unless it's another channel, which I think should happen so his show can air live on Sirius XM. And then maybe keep the "uncensored" (in terms of bits and keeping things that were dumped) replay on 101.

So you may not like his show, but enough people did that Sirius XM paid to keep him around.

It's a real fucking shame about KLSX. And this is sad for fans of hot talk in general.

That's pretty much the same thing everyone says that clearly hasn't listened to enough of the show to make a judgment. Especially when it come to wrestling.

It's kind of like all the people that say Howard's show is all porn star shit but have never listened.

The problem with that is that he's also locked into his FM Radio deal, so Sirius would have to buy that out as well which I don't see happening if they can barely pay him to replay the 1 show. He's not going to another channel if he's still doing the FM gig. Two shows were too much.

Had this been handled properly, Bubba should be doing his show LIVE on Sirius and maybe sell a censored copy to FM. not the other way around which is what we got. At least they are going thru and reinserting uncensored stuff. And not just big chunks. When they replayed the Manson Bad Monkey song yesterday, with start-and-stop willy, the uncensored song was inserted in between Bubba stopping and starting to make commentary. And it was kinda funny the other day when Bubba dropped an F-Bomb. We hear it all happen, but you can hear him scramble to dump it and cover it up on the FM side.

Oh trust me, I know Bubba is not going to be Sirius XM exclusive any time soon. That wasn't at all what I was saying.

I was just thinking airing his FM show live on a channel like 108 or something would be a good way to show that the new found appreciation for Bubba by Sirius isn't just talk and a live FM show would go over better with some of the fans. And still keeping the replay on Howard 101 in it's current state.

And he has to be live and topical to be competitive on FM radio, so a taped show wouldn't work on FM.

That's interesting, considering Howard's show ran on a 3-hour tape delay but he still dominated the West Coast. Unless you're trying to call in, "live" doesn't really matter and a few hours doesn't make most stuff non-topical, IMO. Maybe 2 hours in the morning I hear live, the other 8 hours a day are recorded. Still funny.
 
sirius would never air bubba's show live in the morning. why would they want bubba to directly compete against howard on satellite?
 
Either way, everything on Sirius XM is technically competing against everything else on the service that's on at the same time. As long as they have subs that are listening to the service it doesn't make a difference to them I imagine.
 
If the Sirius' schedule is to be believed, the State of the Bubba Address will be replayed Saturday night at 11:00 PM Est.
 
Just my .02, I don't like Bubba and therefore don't listen to his show. I've heard the show many times but he just isn't funny or entertaining.
