SiriusXM Xtra Channels

Really? Wow had no idea. I thought it would be the other way. SXM has to pay every time they play an Ed Sheeran song. A channel dedicated to his music means more money for the music company.
 
One of SiriusXM's Xtra channels is Love 70s Hits, "love songs from the '70s." '70s? Really? Here is what was just played, alphabetized for your convenience. Memo to SiriusXM: a song that came out in 1998 and stalled at #110 on the Bubbling Under chart is not a '70s hit.

"Car Wash. Workin' on a Car Wash list....." One of the liners says, "You've arrived just in time. Your car is dirtier than my search history." Oy vey! Here is a 45-song sample. It's uptempo songs from the 1970s and mostly top-ten hits – but at least they play the album versions of songs, such as Le Freak (5:23), I Love Music (6:51) and Love Rollercoaster (4:50).

"Little Sylvia" is Sylvia Vandepool, who had the 1957 number-one R&B hit Love Is Strange as half of the duo Mickey & Sylvia and had the 1973 number-one R&B hit and #3 pop hit Pillow Talk. Danny Woods was a member of the Chairmen Of The Board from 1978 to 2010. Starbuck is the same group that had a 1976 hit with Moonlight Feels Right. Pieces Of Eight – an octet – included two members of the Swingin' Medallions. "Rev. Bubba D. Lawrence" is Mike Hooks. He was born in Whitehall, North Carolina and formed the Cornhole Prophets in 2008. I Need You was written by Curtis Mayfield. Early pressings mistakenly showed the title as I Need A Love. Jackie Brenston's Rocket 88 is considered by many to be the first rock'n'roll song. His band, the Delta Cats, is actually Ike Turner's backing band, the Kings of Rhythm.
