Well, I do not listen to SiriusXM Pops but tuned into "Watercolors" during my bike ride to check out the new channel number change. It was uniquely different listening outside with beautiful sunny blue skies instead of the winter scene. I also listened when I helped my wife set up her table for National Night Out and I sneak over to the new ice cream shop and got a scoop of blue moon. It took quite some time before Talaya mentioned anything about the channel change. But she said she hoped she had not lost anybody with the channel change. Not me. In my car it temporarily said channel unavailable so had to press another channel preset then press back and it was there. In in all, a successful transition from channel 66 to 68.

Going back to the classical music talk, I did remember one time at the Madison Symphony Orchestra when my wife was sitting to my left and another lady was sitting to my right and they both fell asleep during the performance for a bit on my shoulders. I kept watching the show.

I'll retell my Boston Pops at Symphony Hall story. I got tickets from my employer, and I was seated with other coworkers. My wife was not that interested in going, but my 16-year old daughter, who played in the school band, was. She had just finished her final growth spurt, so she was 5' 7", thin, and wore an evening dress. At least one of my coworkers looked at me like I was having an affair with a young woman.

Seated on one side of me was a female coworker, and her male husband. The Bruins were in the finals, and he was listening to the game with a portable radio earpiece. They left during the intermission. I guess not everybody is "symphony hall" material.

That's a good and amusing story.
And I hear the Boston Pops is one of the best for classical music.

In July 1964, the Boston Pops Orchestra, conducted by Arthur Fiedler, reached #55 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #80 on the Cash Box Top 100 with an instrumental version of the Beatles' I Want To Hold Your Hand arranged by Richard Hayman. And yes, it ends with "Shave and a haircut, two bits." Don't ask me why. The B-side was an instrumental version of Louis Armstrong's Hello Dolly!
