So now that I've done early 70's southern rock, what's the opposite? The incomparable Stevie Wonder doing inner city and antiwar songs. Among his many hits during the early 70's are Superstition, Living For the City, Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing, Boogie On Reggae Woman, and these two

Higher Ground (live)

I think I'm about 5-10 years off from you. While I have a lot of respect for the 70s songs you're posting (these people can jam!), they aren't my go-to's, and the longer ones lose me halfway through (except "Free Bird"). When I think southern rock, I make a playlist of 38 Special, Mellencamp, ZZ Top (80s mainly), Georgia Satellites, Black Crowes... I'm willing to bet you were finishing high school when I was in junior high? I was Class of 88.
I will get to the late 70's, then the 80's, 90's, 2000's, and 2010's. There'll be something for everyone. :D

I'm with you on Stevie. He was on a major creative streak there in the early to mid 70s. To think he played most of the instruments himself on all those songs. Dude is a musical genius.
His next couple of albums continued the streak, but I'll have to cover that later.

Yeah, but you'd get good drugs, so it's a wash.
Always wash your hands.

Now you're talkin! Gotta love the Clav.

"Superstition" is on my 500+ (but not in the 333). That groove hits me like a wave pool, I can't help but move!

I like "Sir Duke" a lot too. Musical genius for sure. Just delete "Called To Say" from existence, please.

Classic Eddie:
That shit wasn't funny!
Then I suppose in your little sketch Stevie crashed in a tree, right?
Ha-ha, very funny, motherfucker!
Your mother got a wooden leg with a kick stand, motherfucker!
Your mother got a mouth in the back of her neck and the bitch chews like this!
Motherfucker, Stevie Wonder jokes and shit!

The groove hits me like a truck.
If you think I might be dead, play that. If something doesn’t move, start dumping the dirt on me.

While perusing the discography of the legendary Elton John, I came across even more evidence that the movie Rocketman was a piece of shit. Anyway, here are some of my favorites of his from the early 70's

Elton John – Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding (live)

Elton John – Benny and the Jets

Elton John – Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting (live)

I've got Elton in my 333 a couple times, but not 70s. When I was a pip-squeak, I loved "Crocodile Rock". Now it's just nostalgia to me.

My fav EJ songs from the 70s are "Levon" (even though I don't know what he's singing about) "Saturday Night's Alright" and "Someone Saved My Life Tonight".

But I don't need to hear "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" again. Ever.

It was an amazing concert (my post was just a punchline, ba-dum TSH!).

And yeah, Adam Ant basically had a mental breakdown shortly after that.

His visits to mental hospitals earned him the title of one of the ‘most troubled pop stars (the UK) has ever produced’ with BBC Channel 4 airing The Madness of Prince Charming about him.

Hey everybody, great news! I think I've finally caught-up to my original list, so now I can continue to the 2nd half of the 70's. Woo hoo!

The next band on my list is the Eagles. My favorites are from when Joe Walsh joined for Hotel California. I know IRBS beat me to it, but this is an awesome live version

Eagles – Hotel California (live)

another good one from that album

Eagles – Life in the Fast Lane (live)

I also like Victim of Love, but it's been scrubbed from the internets. Must be another ownership dispute.

I've got "Desperado" and "Hotel California" on my 500+ list (but not in the 333), but I also really like "Life In The Fast Lane". I also really dig "Those Shoes". I tried to get my band to do a heavier cover of "Those Shoes" years ago, but as always, they fought me on it.
