#284 Billy Falcon "The Little Girl Who Changed The World"

Billy Falcon's story is an interesting one. TLDR = Gets signed, band flops, wife dies of cancer, Jon Bon Jovi mentions to someone he remembers seeing Falcon perform in the 70s, that person tells someone else who tells Falcon, songwriting partnership with JBJ begins, Falcon scores a solo top 40 hit with "Power Windows" & goes from rags to riches, his next album tanks, he shelves the following album, then releases it 15 years later. THAT album has four songs on there that rip my heart out and make me eat it slowly, especially this one.

#281 Clash "Rock The Casbah"

I'm not a fan of punk. But sometimes when a punk band crosses over into a more mainstream rock sound, I really dig it. Rancid "Ruby Soho" and ALL "Million Bucks" are two more examples (that are on my 500+ list, but not in the 333). As for Clash, I also like "Train In Vain" and "Radio Clash". "Should I Stay" is alright.

When the Clash came out, it took me a little while to warm up to them. Unfortunately it took me wayyyy too long to catch on to Big Audio Dynamite. I would have liked to have heard more music from them.

#280 New Order "Regret"

They're mainly known for their synth-heavy songs like "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Blue Monday". I like so much snythpop/new wave that one could easily think I'm really into this band, but not so much. However, when they grabbed Johnny Marr's Fender Pro to record this one, it was an instant classic in my book! Two members formed Bad Lieutenant after this, keeping that more guitar-driven sound.

#278 Peter Gabriel "Mercy Street"

I don't know what he's singing about in this song (he was inspired by a poet who committed suicide in the 70s). But even if the song as a whole doesn't make sense to me, the individual lines paint a soothing, beautiful picture - but on a cold, dark canvas.
