So Athena took a giant piss right on my bed. It took me a while to notice so I'm not sure when she did it. I stripped the sheets but of course it went through to the actual mattress. While that is a problem I'll need to address with multiple cleaning products, the bigger issue is she doesn't do that. She must be sick or something. She's not acting sick, she's being normal. Right now she's sleeping in the drawer I always keep open for her. I think the game plan here is to watch her today and tomorrow. If nothing happens then we're good. If mattress pissing or whatever else happens again, it may be vet trip time which equals my checking account being unhappy.

Animals, particularly cats, hide their sickness. Might be worth a trip to the vet to catch it early.

Alternatively, you could have just pissed her off. Cats are vindictive like that.

I want to hit the like and haha buttons both for that post but it won't let me (be better mods...looking at you Hectic) so I'll just tell you that in a post.

So no more incidents so far. If this keeps up tomorrow I'll chalk up the bed piss to an isolated incident and not some symptom of sickness.

Is being an a-hole a sickness? Because cats are a-holes.

That will eat my face, yes I know Hectic. That and "we can't have anything nice" are your two catchphrases around here.

Really though, seeing how she's acting normal and there have been no more incidents, I am starting to think she may have done it out of spite or something. It's weird though cause I'm sure I've pissed her off in the past but she's never done that before. Maybe she's experimenting with new tactics in her old age.

Did you DNA test the urine? Are you really sure it was cat?

Hah. I mean I've heard about people pissing themselves while blacked out but is it really that common a thing? For me it usually winds up being completely embarrassing myself in front of friends or family or strangers...or all 3 groups at once.

Also if I'm pissing the bed it would be way more of a disgusting disaster then the somewhat small circle I found on my mattress.

Maybe one of your roommates mistook your room for the bathroom?

It also could have been Mountain Dew.

I'm watching Curb S03e07: Corpse-Sniffing Dog and it got me thinking...It's story time! Forgive me if I've told this before.

When my folks first got together my dad already had a German Sheppard...his name was Fritz.

They eventually moved in together in some place in Philly and at that time my mom wasn't working during the day and my dad had a normal 9-5 at SmithKline. I think they were renting a rowhome. Story goes, one day when Hendrik was at work some guy knocked on the door. My mom came to the door, didn't open it, and said hi. The guy asked to use the bathroom. My mom, not being an idiot, wasn't going to let a random dude in the house when she was there alone. The guy kept asking. Mom kept saying no. The guy went on to say if she didn't let him in he'd take a dump on the front lawn. Mary Ann said fuck that. She told the guy if he didn't leave she'd sick Fritz on him. He didn't leave. After another couple warnings she let Fritz out the door and he attacked the dude and bit the shit out of his arm. The guy ran away bleeding.

Guard dogs are cool. Fritz would also go out every morning and get the paper for my dad.

I never met Fritz but I only heard good things about that dog.

so athena has what i think is a cat pimple on her chin. i was unaware that was something cats could get. it's too small to be called a lump but big enough to notice when i rub her chin. so im gonna have to monitor it...again...like when she pissed on my bed. that issue just went away after a few days so hopefully this one will too or it's gonna cost an arm and leg at the vet.

but it's worth it. i think cats go back to like egypt..she's the greatest one to ever exist since then...even tho she's kinda a dick to me and definitely everyone else. i truly love that furry little beast though.

i'm worried abt my girl. it's nice having her around and she is getting older and more health issues seem to be popping up.

i've kept her alive for 12 years now. i'm gonna see this out.

and yes heectic...i know she will wind up eating my face (u have a hang-up on that btw)...but you accept stuff when u love them.

Yes, cats can develop acne, most commonly around the chin or mouth. Texas A&M's Veterinary Medicine department must have conducted hundreds of hours of research to be able to come up with with this detailed explanation: "Cat acne can occur for many reasons, though the specific cause is usually unknown." Wow! Now we know.

Cat acne went away on its own. I can't feel it at all anymore. I've now been lucky twice. I have a feeling whatever the next thing is I probably won't be able to dodge the vet visit bullet.

All our money goes to the vet. Two of our stimulus checks went for surgeries or procedures, and as recently as a few weeks ago, we had to get 3 of our pets a bunch of shots, so two of them could be boarded while we went to New Jersey.
