I know that they recommend that some of the higher-end timepieces are sent in for servicing. I had no idea that it cost that much.My friends (with the identical convertible as me) have his-and-hers Rolex oyster perpetuals, that have needed servicing twice in that same period of time. And it's over a grand each time, so they put it off until they have the spare change.
These friends of mine are an enigma. He can't do anything for himself. Doesn't know how to pop the hood on his car, won't pick up lumber at a home store (has it delivered), a neighbor mows the lawn, he won't light the gas grill.I know that they recommend that some of the higher-end timepieces are sent in for servicing. If I'm paying that much for a watch, I expect it to keep running! I think the Heuer I bought in 89 or 90 retailed for about $850. I got it for about $650 or so. It's never needed to go in for service.
