Orbitcast - iPhone iOS4 multitasking for Sirius XM Apps?

Yesterday, Orbitcast attended at the Digital Experience Expo in NYC to see what could be found out about the latest wares being offered by Sirius XM Radio Inc. It was a fun event, with quite a good number exhibitors.

And while I didn't expect to see any new products (other than the ones we know about already), I did have a single question I wanted to get addressed... when will iPhone Apps support the multitasking now available on Apple's iOS4 platform?

The answer is encouraging, though unsurprisingly vague: "stay tuned." In other words, they're working on it and would rather not commit to a definitive date just yet.

Whether or not that means that they're still in the development process, or if they're simply waiting on Apple's approval of the product remains to be seen. But at the very least, they are acknowledging the importance of these mobile platforms and are dedicated to keeping them updated.

Other than multitasking, what would be your top requested feature for the Sirius XM iPhone App? Let everyone know in the comments below

Well this is good news. Now that I am spoiled with being able to continue listening to music in the background while doing other things. It would be a great pleasure to have this ability with the Sirius XM Online App and the XM Skydock App.

Hope they release it sooner rather than later!

How about offering every channel you subscribe too? Because they leave some off, I use Pocket Tunes for Sirius.

That has nothing to do with an update to make it iOS4 compatible.

Those are legal issues that restrict them from making everything available via internet streaming. It won't ever happen! Maybe when the renegotiate with Stern, he may show up on there. But you'll never get all the channels that you do via the sats.

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know it were were only allowed/supposed to post features to make it iOS4 compatible. Maybe I shouldn't take your posts literally?

It just said what is your top requested feature. All of the channels is mine. Also, I know it won't happen but, again, it said to post your most requested feature.

Ahh... Ryan at Orbitcast wrote that piece and I didn't pay any attention to his comment to post your top requested feature. I guess I should have read it better before copying over.

None the less you are right it won't happen because legally it can't!
