Oklahoma is getting slammed with severe weather & possible tornados again today :(

I have to deliver in Nevada, MO tomorrow. I hope they head in the opposite direction :)

And again tonight. OKC is now under a tornado emergency from the NWS.

The majority of it is done for scientific research purposes. What they're researching isn't clear to me, but something logical is getting done in the process. In this particular instance the chasers were from Colorado and were pretty well known with the local weather guys in town.

While I was heading towards St. Louis yesterday, a few storm chasers passed me. Two SUV's from Canada passed me, too. One said The Weather Network :right:

I guess Oklahoma weather is big do'ins up there :idunno:

It shouldn't be no surprise some storm chasers would get themselves dead. It seems to have become a cottage industry since the film "Twister" came out.

Since then, everyone's wanting to get into Helen Hunt, er, storm chasing

I'll take a Hellen Hunt twister, thank you.

I know some of those people are motivated by the science, but I think most of them are thrill chasers. Hopefully this convinces some of them not to do it.

This guy(these guys) were actual meteorologists who worked with NWS and some local stations. The thrill seekers are another story.
