That's what Howard said today.

I bet the contract with iNDEMAND is up and they're going on-line, similar to BubbaRaw.

Good. The HTV model is tired and bored. I think they can create good content, but charging so much over regular tv as a subscription kills them. Only or creating an app with free and paid content per vid is the right way to do it.

I'm sure they'll still televise it somehow. The E show brought in a completely new audience that only knew him from tv. Maybe he'll go back to that.

I actually used to enjoy that old Saturday night show.

They've probably got another deal with someone and haven't announced it yet. It will put a lot of people out of work if they just end the whole tv part of the show.

My guesses, although not obviously all of them:
1) PPV shows
2) A weekly highlight show on HBO, Cinemax, etc.
3) A subscription-based online deal through app and website. This one seems the most likely. You can take it everywhere you go and it's on whatever device you have at the moment.

I'm thinking it's between 2 and 3. I give the nod to option three, but option #2 is also a nice one. If anyone remembers the show he had on MOJO, I could see something like that return. He could have a 60-minute timeslot once a week (plus that channel's on demand version), and do a 57-58 minute interview. Obviously, you'd need time to roll the intro and credits. If not an interview format, they could do 2-3 clips in that 57 minute show. Some shows would be "Howard interviews _____" and others would focus on various antics, hijinks, or whatever else goes on.

I am reminded of when CBS cancelled the TV show and Howard acted as though it were not exactly a cancellation and implied or said it would appear somewhere else or he would be doing something else for CBS TV. Nothing else happened until he went to Sirius.

In hindsight I really believe had the E Show kept going for him in his first few years on Sirius that he would have brought in a ton more subscribers to Sirius. The E platform was the way a lot of people found out about Stern.

I'd love a show on HBO or Showtime with the uncensored interviews and highlights. But I'm guessing it will be something online instead.

Either way it could mix things up in a good way.

With the iNDemand contract probably being up, and with dwindling numbers of subscribers via Cable TV only, Howard probably isn't making the money he wants to make with the TV Show.

I agree, Kryptonite. I think he is going to an online pay model, probably mixed with an HBO/Cinemax/Showtime TV Contract in there somewhere.

I don't think that online subscription based models alone would be enough for him to get out of his iNDemand contract.

Not to mention, he'd have to pay for the infrastructure. Knowing Howard, he'll probably figure out a way to have a weekly show on HBO or Cinemax or whatever and some sort of online HowardStern.com/HowardTV deal.

This way, HBO pays for all the TV-related costs and Howard essentially gets to "re-sell" the shows through his own website while taking a cut of those sales. I can see this being a monthly subscription between $9.95 and $14.99 per month.

At least this ends the "I can't get HowardTV on my DirecTV/Dish/U-Verse/whatever" arguments. Plus, if you've got a situation where one roommate hates Howard and the other is a fan, you don't have to put it on the TV bill.

They don't have enough content to justify the staff or cost. Like I said before, it cost the same as HBOGO and has a fraction of the content. And for the price of HBO, u get 10 channels, on demand, and HBOGO with their entire TV show history available.

The E! show was how I discovered Howard in the 90's. cuz he wasn't syndicated here for many years.

I am not a Howard TV subscriber. I have a few questions. Is Scott DePace out? Used to be, Howard TV covered things like Scott bowling, Wendy the Retard bowling and girls in bikinis bowling. Covered Ronnie's Block Party too, didn't it? So why did Howard shut all that stuff down? Didn't seem to improve his two or three shows a week and deprived Howard TV of material.

Heck, I get two feeds of HBO, HBO2, HBO Signature, HBO Family, HBO Zone, HBO Latino, HBO Comedy in HD!

14 channels plus on demand and HBOGo isn't bad. What makes it better? Every few months, they'll offer it free for three months. Fill up the DVR and away we go. :) Oh, and my "subscription" comes with two feeds of Cinemax, MoreMax, ActionMax, ThrillerMax, and one feed of 5Max, Movie, OuterMax and Latino plus the MaxGo and Cinemax On Demand.

I could swear someone revealed the subscriber numbers for for HTV was about 11,000. That's pretty bad. It wouldn't surprise me if it did just end up being online for free, although I'm sure Howard would try a pay model of some kind of uncensored stuff, let's say.
