It's only the app. It uses the Pandora technology, so there's no DJs and you get limited skips. (They really should allow the bumpers to not count as a skip.)

It's been around since September, but I just recently found it.

It's hard rock from the 70s up to now.

I pay extra for the SiriusXM app and all the Xtra channels and when I try to get the Nitro channel, this message appears: "Sorry, this channel is not part of your subscription package." What the hey?!? Obviously I won't be able to make a list of songs played.

That's odd.

I assume you've done the usual tricks like deleting cache, logging out, deleting the app, etc.
