New Computer -- changed browser

As I have mentioned in other threads, I have a brand new computer. Windows 7 64 bit. All the bells and whistles. It came bundled with IE9 (64 bit).

Problem is, about 1/2 of the sites I visit don't work with IE9 or don't work well is more like it. DRC was one of the 1/2 that did work properly.

So now I downloaded and am using Chrome. So far I am impressed. I have downloaded all my bookmarks from IE9 already.

Only think I am missing is the Google toolbar which ironically is not compatible with Chrome.

Also, Chrome appears to be a 32 bit browser not 64.
 
The reason IE isn't working is because you are using the 64bit version. There is a 32bit version also available. Use that.

No reason to use 64bit browser (that I know of at least)
 
Yeah try out the 32bit IE9. I like Chrome though, Use it on my computer exclusively. I like using Chrome to Phone for for Droid
 
I like Firefox better than any of the others. My biggest complaint (its giant memory footprint) was mostly solved in the last upgrade.

Bingo. Will still try Chrome. It is downloaded after all.
 
Chrome is okay, but like many others I am partial to FireFox. I also like Thunderbird in terms of a stand alone email client. I freaking hate Outlook, so I'd rather be cut than to use that crap. Thunderbird on the Mac also seems to play better with Google IMAP too that the built in Mac email client.

FireFox also has sync which allows me to sync it across all my computers and even use it on iOS devices.

I used to use Eudora but switched to Outlook as it seemed to be the only e-mail client that the iPhone would sync to. Now its a mute point as the only think I sync with Outlook is the contacts as Calendar is now down with Google.

FireFox is the old Netscape is it not? I used to use it but prefer the look and feel of IE. Chrome is simular enough to IE to make it useable.
 
I tried chrome, not a major fan of it! I only stick with Firefox, but once in a while, I have to deal with IE. Because some sites don't support FF.

Eudora actually is still being made, but by Mozilla, which makes Thunderbird so the two are almost one in the same except the theme.

Outlook is pure crap in my book and even when I only used windows I just used Google for syncing rather that deal with it. If you are smart you will move your contacts to Google and get rid of it. Google works well for contacts, calendars and even todo's these days, not to mention notes if you go with the IMAP version on iOS devices. Though you would give up Push email if youd don't use Google Exchange.

I am not sure if FireFox was the old Netscape, I just know it beats the crap of out Internet Exploiter, which has a horrid user interface. Chrome though at least allows you to theme it make it acceptable. Still FireFox is the best PERIOD!
