Movies You've Seen That Aaron Hasn't

I needed a few bumps to read that fast.
The last 48 hours have been like listening to people argue in Spanish. I didn’t think it was possible to fit that many words into that short of a timespan.

I used to watch the TV show on Nick and Knight when I was a kid. I assume this movie is based on that because the TV show was definitely on before that. I think it might have even been black and white.
Yes, based on the show. Starring Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd. It's one of those movies where if I was channel surfing and it was on, I'd always stop there and watch it. Just a fun movie, start to finish.

Well, gosh, y'know, one of.....one of my, my favorite Jimmy Stewart movies is, uh, Pot O' Gold from 1941. Jimmy, y'know, actually sings a song in this one, When Johnny Toots His Horn – and 22-year-old Art Carney has a small uncredited role as a radio announcer. I wonder if Aaron has seen this movie. It's been colorized, and....and....well, it's on YouTube. (In several interviews, Jimmy said he considered Pot O' Gold to be his worst film. I disagree.)

I have not, will watch soon!
It’s amazing how almost 8,000 movies in, there’s still so much more.

IMO, any old guy can come up with an obscure movie that ran 50 years before Aaron was born. I think it should be limited to movies he potentially could've seen.

True it’s easier to stump me with those, but I’ve watched a lot from the 30’s and 40’s and probably 200 silent films from before that. Those are cool, like time capsules.

When I use Google on my phone, I get this seemingly random assortment of news stories. Except they're all related to my online activity. One that I just got was about Roger Ebert's most hated film, 2001's Freddy Got Fingered. Ever see that?

Yes. The Criterion Channel is one of my favorite sources for classic movies. A few months ago they featured a selection of movies considered to be among the worst ever made and that was one of them. I watched it just to watch it. Yeah, it was horrible.

Ishtar, while not great by any means, wasn’t that that bad.

Bonfire of the Vanities was not good but not terrible.

Howard the Duck may be the worst I’ve ever seen.

The only one of these I've seen is Problem Child. "I drove over a thousand miles to hang out with a seven-year-old? "I'm gonna be eight in two weeks." "Don't count on it!" The theme song by the Beach Boys was played over the closing credits – but most people leave the theater as soon as the credits start, so few people heard the song. Leonard Maltin gave the movie 1½ stars: "Bad performances and crude jokes."

"Ishtar" (I have not seen) was projected to be a can't miss Hollywood blockbuster classic. When it wasn't it got a bad wrap as being absolutely awful. If it had been promoted as an average mediocre movie, it wouldn't have got the bad wrap ... but then it would be completely forgotten today.

I have to add "Leonard Part 6" and the classic "Plan 9 from Outer Space".

My high-school friends and I famously walked out of "The Last American Virgin", but now I see it has a good rating. We would go to movies just to sit in the front row and drink. But after suffering through the first half, one of my friends said "Why don't we just leave?", and I thought that was the most brilliant idea ever.

Leonard Part 6 is dreadful.

North - despite a good cast was pathetic, Ebert totally despised this one.

Waterworld was okay.

Plan 9 - bad, of course, but an entertaining watch

"Waterworld" was another that suffered from huge expectations but was just ok therefore disappointing.

One movie I seem to be in the minority on - A Christmas Story - I don’t like it. Maybe I saw it when I was too young and it seemed so mean spirited. But I have no desire to ever watch it again.
