Well first off food eating contests are disgusting. And, you know how like people talk about how like capitalism is bad or what not and will kill the country and I totally disagree with that but I think food eating contests are what will ruin the United States. Just gluttonous disgusting behavior. If you want to balloon up to a giant fatso like me, do it in private by shamefully eating burritos at home like a good American citizen.

Anyway, If I'm the press secretary for the governor of New Hampshire, I am basically in heaven right now. And usually I would suspect that something like this was staged because I believe all politicians, especially at the governor level are big enough to lie about whatever to make themselves look better. But this was just filmed with some person in the audience's phone camera.

I have no idea who the governor of New Hampshire is. I don't know what party he is. I don't know what his policies are but I know I like him now. And, after seeing him just spring into action like this I would vote for him.

He's Chris Sununu, a fast-talking republican who stumped for Nikki Haley. He's also the son of a previous governor. But he's timed-out, not running again.

Wow! Okay so that proves this wasn't fake because unless he's trying to go for higher office like be a senator or something then he has no reason to stage shit like that.

I don't know. I just think that like most politicians that make it to the governor level or higher would literally see me like shot on the street and just walk away and like I should be happy if they took the time to think about calling 911.

Like this guy saw a guy struggling and actually physically took action right away. That's respectable.

I just read that back. wow I have low standards for politicians. I mean any normal person would help a dude they see choking right next to them. I just don't equate national politicians with normal people.

Idk, I guess I was thinking that weekend at Bernie's is really really stupid 90s comedy and I don't really know Mr bean but from what I've seen in clips his type of comedy is also really really stupid.
Mr. Bean was just one character done brilliantly by Rowan Atkinson. All of his stuff is very humourous but some of it you need to really be British to fully appreciate.

That's why I likened him to Adam Sandler in the US. They've both had really silly characters, but have also done good high-level comedies, and some serious acting. And both are filthy rich.

Adam doing serious acting or like non-loebrow comedy is rare. I can think of 1 off the top of my head and I'm pretty sure it's the only one. If I'm missing something let me know.

Uncut gems was him doing serious acting but I wouldn't call that one a comedy at all. It was a good movie though.

But you have to be a cinephile like Aaron to really know those films. When people think Adam Sandler they think like Billy Madison or grown ups or just like comedies that appeal to 6th to 9th graders.

Aside from Uncut Gems, there's Spaceman, Hustle, The Meyerowitz Stories, Reign Over Me, and Punch-Drunk Love. Maybe more.

Oh shit! I thought I mentioned punch drunk love. That's a really good one and it's funny.

I've never even heard of the other four you just mentioned. So now I have a list to add to my queue.

Thanks.

Exactly the ignorance and asshole-ishness I'd expect from a stuffed suit

Former Sony prez says thousands of laid-off devs can just 'go to the beach for a year' and you can't blame greedy execs: 'Things jump out in front of you and you deal with them just like any game. So get over it!'

It's not 'big brother' it's 'big billionaire'. Something tells me these things won't be happening in his type of neighborhoods, where the Epstein-level crime is going on...

"We're going to have supervision," Ellison said. "Every police officer is going to be supervised at all times, and if there's a problem, AI will report that problem and report it to the appropriate person. Citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that's going on."

Billionaire Larry Ellison says a vast AI-fueled surveillance system can ensure 'citizens will be on their best behavior'

Bullshit as in...?

1. This is bullshit! They can't do this!
2. He's full of shit! He's talking out of his ass!
3. This news story is bullshit! He never said that!
Bullshit as in #1 and #2. While there are enough surveillance cameras on houses and businesses and street corners and such to cover a bit of what people are doing, there's not going to be a wholesale coordination among them all by some government overlord. And if Ellison starts a company hell-bent on placing new surveillance cameras every 10 feet across America, good luck with that. And what is going to be monitoring police officers all the time?

I do agree that AI could analyze a bunch of surveillance video and pick-out moments of interest. But the videos would have to be made available by all the owners. I have a Ring camera, and there's a Nextdoor app which links customers for alerts. But my camera is private. Even if Ring anonymously shared the videos with an AI service, that's just Ring. There's a hundred camera systems out there, and it's unlikely they'll be forced to share. Besides, I use my Ring camera on the inside of my house sometimes. Who's going to tell me to do otherwise?

“This agreement is a major milestone in Microsoft’s efforts to help decarbonize the grid in support of our commitment to become carbon negative”

Or the alternate ending: depopulate the area and make it carbon-based-life-form negative.

I can't read the article (it's behind a paywall)

After reading a "certain number" of articles on CNN's website, users will be asked to start paying a $3.99 monthly fee for access. Reuters also announced plans to institute digital subscriptions for its website and mobile app.
