Unlike the rest of you, you all know I love election season. I find it so much fun to pick a guy and root for him.

What I hate is when entertainers decided to get involved. I don't care what some pop/folk/rap/rock singer thinks about how I should vote. Fuck you. Sing your songs and make me forget about hard times for 3 mins.

But if an entertainer feels compelled to get involved they should do it like Mama Cass did here. I think this was during the Nixon/McGovern campaign season. Mama Cass had class. She didn't tell people who to vote for, she simply encouraged people to vote.

I can get behind that.

She encouraged people to get out and vote. We all know who she was likely favoring but she never said it...She just said go vote.

Also this is a beautiful duet:

The fuel pumps received a software update in November of 2022. Unbeknownst to the company, however, the update was exploitable. It allowed anyone to swipe a rewards card twice to enter the pump into a demo mode. From there, the user could pump gas for free.

This woman is a monster.

Living near a BBQ place would make life so much better, not worse.

Oh wow, this gets crazier. If the rundown in the go fund me for the shit guy is true, the lady is insane and has filed like a million different complaints about the place.

The complaints include “concerns” about the establishment’s fencing, lightning, “junk” on the store’s property, and even the store front’s sign.

Lightning? Probably lighting...

Vegan Karen’s suck.
That looks like the kind of place that has good bbq.
I‘d go out of my way to eat there if I lived in the area.

Quote: "The Federal Communications Commission has voted to approve a new rule that will require cable and satellite television providers to disclose programming-related surcharges and fees to customers in advertised prices. The measure will force traditional pay TV providers that are regulated by the FCC to reveal the total cost a consumer will pay to subscribe to a programming package, including any broadcast and regional sports fees that have typically not been revealed to customers until after they purchase a service."

It's too bad the FCC doesn't have the power to go after the hidden fees charged by banks, airlines, hotels, resorts, utility companies and concert ticket sellers. The Federal Trade Commission says these fees "cost consumers tens of billions of dollars per year in unexpected costs."

I wish the FCC would force cable companies to let you get channels a la carte instead of "Oh you want the beach channel? That's part of package 4 which has 187 other channels you don't care about and costs $78/month, sucker!"

That sounds good, but in practice, it would cause two-thirds of the cable channels to fold. And I'm not sure it's technically feasible either.

And people would complain "I'm paying $38 a month just for ESPN?!?!?!?!?" when the answer is "you always were".

Besides, we're getting pretty close to a la carte now with streaming. Maybe not individual channels, but smaller packages. "Cable" is all but dead - it's just a matter of time.

Apple is accused of engineering an "illegal monopoly" of the smartphone market. That may be true in the United States, where Apple's iPhone holds a 61% share – but worldwide, iPhones have only a 28.5% share. Android phones account for 70.6%. Shares of Apple closed today at 171.37, a drop of 7.30 (4.09%).

In asking Congress to approve the declaration of a state of war between the United States and Japan, President Franklin Roosevelt said, "Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan....I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost."

The attack killed 2,403 United States personnel, including 68 civilians, and destroyed or damaged 19 U.S. Navy ships. On December 7, 2023, five survivors of the attack returned to Pearl Harbor for a commemorative ceremony. The Department of Veterans Affairs does not keep track of how many survivors are still alive. Two days ago the number decreased by one.
