As a kid, my father showed me how to put a lobster into a boiling pot, head first. He said they lose consciousness immediately. They continue to move, but that's just involuntary reflexes (so I was told). Ever since then, I've been the one to put the lobsters in the pot.

Recently, there have been articles about studies, supposedly claiming they feel pain. And so some people now use "humane" methods, such as swiftly killing them before dropping them in the water. I don't buy into that.

I don't get to cook live lobster very often, but the few times I have I've always used a knife to stab them through the head killing them right before I put them in the pot. IDK what the science is on what lobsters can feel (and I probably do it just to give myself some piece of mind) but that has always seemed like the more humane thing to do. Plus I saw that's how Gordon Ramsay does it on one of his shows like a decade ago, hah.

I'll just get mine at a restaurant. I don't get lobster very often, but it's much easier to deal with, and the house smells better after too.

Back when we built the house, we got a trail camera to record the progress with the house, and capture anyone trying to steal stuff from the site. It's motion triggered, and records onto an SD card. After all, you can't use a Wi-Fi camera on a construction site, as there's no Wi-Fi.

After the house was done, we positioned it to see what was coming down the driveway. But more recently, Mrs. Scotch wanted to monitor the back of our property. Before we built the house, it was a hangout spot for neighborhood kids, and also a perch for hunters. So there was stuff that would appear back there, like chairs and carrying cases etc., and she wanted to see if people were hanging out there. So I got rid of the "stuff", and setup the camera on a tree back there.

We didn't capture any trespassers or items being brought in (which is good news). The camera was mostly tripped by squirrels, but we did get these

Think what it'll do to your head.

I wonder if they put mustard on it . I hear that's a thing now.

The hippos on Kilimanjaro Safari are cool. Like 9 out of 10 times they are just chilling in the water and you can only see their backs but that 10% when they are walking around is really neat. Cool looking beasts.
