I decided to take my monthly visit to Gov Nelson State Park, early this month, and went today. I talked to the Park Ranger last week, he told me that they were going to have more construction at the park including refurbishing the picnic shelter at the beach, so I thought I better go now. I think I saw either an otter or a beaver at the beach. He and I were the only one's there. I must have scared him as he ran under the rocks in the Isle as soon as he saw me. The lake water was much calmer this time than the last time. I was able to walk up the entire Isle with less wind. But I was still afraid to sit on the rocks. I'm too old now.
Then I walked on the beach and went to the mini-Isle. I had my hiking boots this time. The mini-Isle has a straight line of sight of the State Capital. It looks closer than 7 miles away. But the wind blew my phone out of my hands and got a few scratches. I will have to find something to sand it down.
It was an honor to be able to listen to the Coffeehouse once again at the park. Anna Vaus's beautiful cover of "Harvest Moon" is now on the main channel after being on Coffeehouse Discovery last year. And Taylor Swift also has an acoustic version of "The Fate of Ophelia" It's nice that she makes these acoustic versions of her hits for us Acoustic Swifties.
I also inquired with the Ranger about using my e-bike at the park. He said no bikes are allowed at all. I've seen people riding on the trails, but I guess they shouldn't be. I'm thinking I could still take my bike and park at the park, then ride on the bike trail adjacent to the county highway, this summer. It looks like a very nice trail.
