Just for fun, let's contrast that with the always powerful NFC South...

Saints 1

Bucs 1

Falcons 0

Panthers 0

NFC East 11 Super Bowls

AFC North 7 Super Bowls

NFC West, AFC East, AFC West 6 Super Bowls each

NFC North 4 Super Bowls

NFC South, AFC South 2 Super Bowls each

To be fair, the Texans and Jaguars organizations have only been around a combined 23 seasons. Really hurts the AFC South.

Anybody want to take Pittsburgh out of the AFC North and see how many Superbowls remain? 1.

And no matter how many pretty graphics of Dallas in-your-faceisms, it doesn't change the fact that win or lose, the Cowboys stilll, always have, and always will suck.

Ah spoke like a Pittsburgh/Philly fan. Pittsburgh is an aptly named place don't you think?

Well, you could classify me a Philly, Giant and Redskin fan depending on the circumstances (see if you can get the common denominator). I think its that attitute of "America's Team" that wins you guys so much love and addoration as shown in this thread.

People hate the guy on top.

I hated the Cowboys when I moved th Dallas in 1983, but I was a huge Miami fan so I was a fan of Jimmy when he came to Dallas.

America's Team

The term America's Team is a popular nickname in American sports that most often refers to the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.[1] The nickname originated with the team's 1978 highlight film, where the narrator opens with the following introduction:

They appear on television so often that their faces are as familiar to the public as presidents and movie stars. They are the Dallas Cowboys, "America's Team."[2]

The term is recognized and often used by media outlets, including ESPN,[3] Yahoo!,[4] HBO Sports,[5] and Sports Illustrated.[6]

On their Top 10 show, the NFL Network named the Dallas Cowboys' "America's Team" as the #1 nickname in NFL history

The Funny thing is, is that they did not give themselves the " American Team" name, that was done by NFL films, in there 1978 highlight video. Tom Landry did not like it at first, because he thought that the rest of the league would be gunning for them.

I have been a Cowboy fan since 1972.;)

Edit: Sorry TX WJ. Did not see you post before me. You already posted the American Team history.

so in my mind there is hitler, osama and dallas. if someone killed my mom it would be a toss up to who i hate more.

they are so overrated. they will be lucky to be 9-7 and vying for the wildcard behind the division leading [EAGLES. last season was the worst way any season could ever end. we will be back with a vengeance. tony homo will shit the bed and we will be in texas stadium to win it all in jerry jones' face!

It was great for me.:nana:

A lot of people in Houston hate the Cowboys, but I don't really pay them much attention. The fans are pretty strange so I just stay away. Those Super Bowls are almost two decades in the past and they still think they're on top.

Fans - Fanatic

I still want the Orioles to win even through they have been horrible since they last won a Championship (against Philly :p in 1983).

People love their team, and I am ok with that. When you start attacking other teams and wishing bad things happen to their players that is where you become a fanatic.

I respect everyone, although my opinion of the Steelers has gone down since they had a chance to walk the talk that they have been doing about not putting up with bad guys, when they took Ben back.

Having lived in both Houston and Dallas, I can tell you that Houston has a bit of a chip on their shoulder about Dallas. People in Dallas don't even care what people in Houston think, yet people in Houston seem a bit preoccupied with Dallas bashing.

Kinda like Texas and Texas A&M to an aggie (I married one) beating Texas is the be all end all, and to the Longhorn fan the aggies are just another game, it's OU we want to beat.

The Oilers never did much and the Texans have continued the tradition. There are plenty of Dallas people here to remind us of that, which is where all the Cowboy resentment comes from.

You know how much Texas loves its football...that combined with having to watch our neighbors up north celebrate 5 Super Bowls over the years, and everyone in Houston is dying for a pro championship. As bad as the Texans have been, there's never a doubt every home game will be sold out.
