just thought id beat everyone to the chase and start this thread.

the last time he did the show with a green screen, in 06 i think, i thought it was pretty well done. i didnt expect them to make it look like howie was sitting on the couch next to jimmy. i dont remember what they talked about and dont really care to go back and watch it again.

howard set the bar really hight with letterman. i hope he does another great show like that tonight. he talked about doing a bit on the show.....that has potential to be really awesome or go awfully wrong. we will see. but when howie gets a chance to just talk for 2 segments he is rarely bad at it.

oh and its on tonight, just in case anyone forgot...

Howard doesn't even remember what he did last time he was on the show. It was actually very innovative. Never saw that technique on the other late night shows.

Kimmel's show is actually very good. He has shitty guests like every other late night host but his show feels different from Conan/Leno/Letterman. He's very much an original.

Really liked the f/x of it making look like Howard was actually there, even though Jimmy had said for several days that Howard would be on via satellite. Kinda cool Jimmy goes that extra mile, instead of just using a TV screen.

That said, the interview was meh. Thought it was funny that Howard got so interested in what Jimmy spent on a gift painting. Bring up money = Howard's ears perk up.

The baseball pitch was kinda dumb and didn't look good on TV because you didn't see the flow of the full pitch. So to just see Jimmy catching a ball was anticlimactic. But, it's always good to take shots at how horrible Gary is at throwing a ball. :) :) :)

And, of course, Howard looked RIDICULOUSLY dressed as usual. Fashion scarf (black pattern), black hoodie, black coat, black (cargo?) pants, black boots. I'm not sure one item of clothing was the right size. He always reminds me of a pinhead in a circus wearing giant clothing, know what I mean? He's really got to simplify. Ralph has no clue what he is doing.

Forgot one other thing, Howard sat like a CHICK for most of the interview - one leg over the other, with his hands clasped around his knee. You know, they way chicks sit when they wear skirts and don't want to flash the world. With Howard SO CONCERNED about how he looks, you would think someone would have told him no straight man sits like that.

i only saw the first 3 mins or so and them my work computer took a shit on me but from what i saw so far i thought it was ok. gotta see it all though.

haha i did notice the sitting thing. maybe it had something to do with the green screen thing? it seemed like he was sitting at the very edge of the chair the whole time i watched.

the green screen was cool though. just like last time, even better maybe. i watched the start with a co worker and if i didnt tell him, he would have had no idea howie was not in the studio right next to jimmy.

im sure ill have more to say once i see it all.

Correct. Jimmy Kimmel Live is not live anymore. ABC also told him to get rid of the liquor on-camera.

He does tape around 8PM PST, later than most other shows.
