I watched Private Parks a few days ago and was wondering if the concert in central park that they show actually happened. I can't find any video of it.

I thought it happened. According to IMDB, "The live performance of AC/DC was filmed at Bryant Park in New York City in July 1996. " I didn't see anything that said if it was really like the movie said. What year was it supposed to be in the movie?
i think youre right about that. i remember cause i had just started listen when the movie came out.
it made like 40-50million at the box office and was #1 in its first week right? i wonder how much it cost to make. my guess would be something like 20 million or so.

If the concert was in 96, and the movie was released in 97, it seems like a really tight schedule to have really happened, written and pitched the movie to a studio, filmed, and released.
I wonder if the move footage WAS directly from the concert and not a reenactment.

That would also explain why I can't find the "actual" footage. That would also mean that the part about Allison's water breaking a the concert is made up.
I remember many years ago, reading a website where some guy was walking around NYC and he saw a flier. It said something like, "Anyone who wants to be in Howard Stern's new movie, please come to Central Park at such-and-such time."
The guy, and thousands of other people, showed up. Howard went on stage and said a few words. AC/DC came out and gave a free concert.
Supposedly, the guy was 'RIGHT THERE' when Howard and his "movie wife" were getting into the taxi. One of the movie cops (real cops?) was a little too rough, and really did shove the author of the website.
