I don't know what my total tax would be. My marginal fed rate is about 20%, but I don't know if SSI is on top of that. My state is about 6%. And then my prop tax is unrelated to my income.
Kinda like the lottery. Keeps the shady gambling enterprise lower than it would be.legalizing it certainly eliminates the crime, and cranks up the tax revenue.
Oh kinda like the Tijuana of New EnglandNH being the South of the North is pretty obvious.
When I started working where I currently do (22 years ago), someone used to collect the bottles to get the nickel for recycling them (bringing them to Maine). I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told he was just letting the bottles stack up in bags at his house (not driving them an hour to Maine and turning them in). Then he died. I feel bad for the poor sonofabitch who had to deal with all that! You can do what you like with your bottles.
In SK they have signs that returning bottles from out of province was illegal. Since it is essentially government money being returned. When I started working where I currently do (22 years ago), someone used to collect the bottles to get the nickel for recycling them (bringing them to Maine). Haha I was thinking of that episode during this discussion.

South Florida is like an extension of NYC.Changing topic, and I imagine most of you know this but the further south you get in fl the less south it is.

Usually before every long weekend with reasonable weather:In your location, do retail fireworks places magically appear twice a year the week before July 4th and New Years? It's like clockwork.

I've never heard of this. I imagine some longtime Mainers have. According to an explanation I read, the "easterly line" is a specific line going from one point to another within the county. It may follow a range of mountains. It's not just the eastern border. Not my state, but my neighboring state.
I remember years ago looking through my map book (Remember those? You'd keep a few in your trunk in case you got lost) and seeing upstate Maine loaded with areas called "WELS". Curious, I investigated. It stands for "West of the Easterly Line of the State". It's used to label areas that don't have towns in them.
Now, I hate to break it to the knuckleheads who came up with this term but... EVERYTHING IS WEST OF THE EASTERLY LINE OF THE STATE! What a term!! That's like if the Colonials named the states WOTA's -- "West Of The Atlantic Ocean". Maine = WOTA 1, NH = WOTA 2, Vermont = WOTA 3.... I think I rolled my eyes so hard I fell off my chair when I read about this back in the day.

We don't need pop-up fireworks vendors; we have the state of New Hampshire. In your location, do retail fireworks places magically appear twice a year the week before July 4th and New Years? It's like clockwork.
