How about three guys and a gal? Here is Black Strap Molasses by Jimmy Durante, Danny Kaye, Groucho Marx and Jane Wyman with background vocals by 4 Hits & A Miss. This was written by Carmine Ennis and Marilou Harrington and reached #29 in September 1951. It was the only hit they wrote together – but Harrington, all by her little self, wrote Bela Bimba, a #27 hit for Patrice Munsel in Octrober 1951.

The first male/female duet to reach number one was Tell Me, Pretty Maiden by Canadian-born tenor Harry MacDonough and Grace Spencer, a soprano who was the first woman to record for Victor Records. The song, from the Broadway musical Floradora, was number one for seven weeks in May-June 1901. I can't find the original recording (Edison 7758) online. Here is a version they recorded on April 16, 1902 (Victor 1362):

"Hey, Steven, what was the second male/female duet to reach number one?" asked no one ever. It was Because You're You by Harry MacDonough and Liverpool-born soprano Elise Stevenson from the Broadway musical The Red Mill. This was number one for two weeks in May 1907. The post says the song is from 1906. It's wrong. They did make three recordings of the song on October 16, 1906, but none of those recordings were kept. The recording released as a single was made on January 16, 1907.

When I started this thread, I had the following song in mind. It was a staple of SiriusXMU, but I didn't remember the name of the group or the song. All I had to go by was a couple of phrases of profane lyrics, which I just used my phone (not my work computer) to look up. Luckily, a few of the search results were not adult sites, and I got my song. It's like a nsfw version of Summer Nights from Grease

The Teenagers - Homecoming

The Darktown Strutters' Ball was written by Shelton Brooks. (Note to IRBS: Brooks was born in Amherstberg, Ontario.) There were four top-ten versions of the song in 1917-18, by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, the Six Brown Brothers, the Eugene Jaudas Society Orchestra and Arhur Collins & Byron Harlan. The latter version went to number one. A version by Ted Lewis reached #12 in November 1927 and a version by Lou Monte reached #7 in March 1954.

The Darktown Strutters' Ball – the title was not considered racist a century ago but is certainly considered racist now – has been recorded by more than 280 other artists including Fats Waller, Ted Heath, Charlie Barnet, Ken Griffin, Al Hirt, Ricky Skaggs (!), Steve Allen, Chick Webb, Phil Harris, Dave Brubeck and Eddie Peabody. A majority of the versions are instrumentals. Here is a version by Alan Dale and Connie Haines. It reached #29 in August 1948. Dale had previously sung with the Carmen Cavallero Orchestra and Haines had six top-20 hits as lead singer with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

I don't remember that one.

I like it, and it probably would have done better with cleaned up lyrics.

Reel Big Fish "I Know You To Well To Like You Anymore"

You're a slut!
You're a dick!
You're a whore!
You're a prick!
You make me fucking sick
You've got no tits!

Well, you're a needle dick!
I'm so sick of your shit
Well, you're a hag!

And you're a drag!
You drive me fucking mad!
Well I wish you'd go to hell
But I love you - oh well

Viva la romance...

I just realized that this is a four and a half minute song.
It’s like the Freebird of ska.…..

Here's a lovely little ballad featuring male and female vocals.

[Pre-Chorus: Liv Kristine]
Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness
And would you ever soon come above unto me?
For once upon a time from the binds of your loneliness
I could always find the right slot for your sacred key

[Chorus: Dani Filth]
Six feet deep is the incision in my heart, that barless prison
Discolours all with tunnel vision, sunsetter, nymphetamine
Sick and weak from my condition, this lust is vampyric addiction
To her alone in full submission, none better, nymphetamine
