This isn't groceries, but about a month ago, we ordered chicken tender dinners (with dipping sauces) from a homestyle local restaurant. When we came to pick them up, there were 3 different people handling pickups, it seemed a bit confusing. They got my info on which order I was waiting for, but then a different person handed an order to another customer. After that, we got our order, but when we got it home, it was totally the wrong stuff.
What we got probably cost a lot more than what we ordered, but I was really looking forward to the tenders and sauce. That other family ordered a nice dinner, and got our finger food.

About 5 years ago we went to a McDonalds drive through and ordered some stuff. They were confused and slow so they had us pull up to the waiting slots. Then they came with an order of several big macs and stuff except it wasn't ours. They told us to keep it (as we had already opened it -- even pre-pandemic that wasted the food) and then brought us ours. We had a feast that day. I don't think we ate it all.

I usually pull forward and check to see if they got the order right before I leave the parking lot.

On a stupid me move at the drive through. I forgot I had ordered my son a nuggets and fries and not just $1 drinks one night. So when they gave me my drinks, I just drove off. He was not happy.
What kind of bags to you use to take home groceries?
I still use plastic at both Publix and Walmart (the 2 places I buy groceries).
I know plastic is bad news but I like them. They are easy to carry and I reuse them for both cleaning the cat box and as trash bags in my small can. Not quite recycling them but at least they get used more than once.

The local shops were off plastic years ago, but once that 19 broke out they wouldn't touch our personal woven bags. We're back to plastic bags that end up in the ocean.
My grocery store uses plastic, has all along. But you can request paper bags if you want them. We reuse most of the plastic bags (well, we reuse some and my in-laws reuse most of the rest). I'd say over 80% get reused.
Probably about the same with me. When I get home and empty them I inspect them for holes. If they have holes they go in the trash, the rest get reused for the stuff I mentioned above.

#MeToo. When I do the self checkout thing I often grab a bunch of extra bags and keep them by the cat box.
We have the luxury of living on the border. Our town banned plastic 2 years ago, so our local supermarket does paper bags or reusables, but didn't allow reusables last year. When we shop there, we use the paper bags to line our recycling bin. The entire state of Maine was about to ban plastic bags last year, but that got delayed.
Over the line in NH, it's Live Free and Die, so everything's double-bagged plastic. We do our major grocery shopping there, and use the plastic bags for the same as Koop.

I just went to Publix to buy some Skittles (I can't go cold turkey, I've already cut out the hoagies) and I felt bad so I also bought a bunch of fruit. I bought the normal pound packages of watermelon and cantaloupe and then some grapes caught my eye so I threw them in the basket. My total wound up being $22. While I was biking home (once again I felt guilty about the Skittles so I rode my bike to the store) I realized $22 seemed like a whole lot for what I bought so I stopped and looked at the receipt.
The freaking grapes were $9.58! I got 2.4 pounds worth but still, at Walmart that same bag is like $2. I've never paid so much for grapes in my life. Whatever, I tasted them and they are delicious. A lot better than the Walmart grapes.
EDIT: I'm realizing now that I'm an old man who yells about the price of grapes. But still, freaking $10? I guess I should have checked the price before impulsively throwing them into the basket.

I don't think so. They weren't in the organic section and they don't say anything about that on the bag.
Also, "non-GMO" food can go kick rocks. Humans have been genetically modifying food since like the Egyptians would cross breed seeds while farming. I want more GMO's in my food. A seedless watermelon is us laughing in God's face and I love it!
Looking at Walmart prices on grapes, I'm getting between $2.49 and $3.99 per pound. So unless they're basically free down by you, I can't see getting 2.4 lbs for $2. Plus, I always get skeeved out when I see those unrefrigerated baskets of fresh fruit at Walmart. At the grocery store, they're in a chilled section, with that mist spraying on them.
When I buy grapes, I get between 1 and 2 lbs. I can't see getting 2.4 lbs for 1 person.
