Gay News

Two paragraphs stand out as even worse than the rest. Makes me so angry:

At a Republican fundraiser in Stateline, Idaho, a local GOP official named Dan Bell was excited to introduce the next speaker. “He’s definitely not OK with trans or any of that gay shit,” Bell, youth chair of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee, said into the microphone as the crowd laughed.

Some men carried AR-15s. Others wore neo-Nazi skull masks while holding a “Groomers Are Not Welcome in Idaho” banner. And other men, according to a dispatch from Neiwert, held signs “citing the Leviticus verse that recommends homosexuals be put to death.”

In good gay news there was a giant pride celebration down here today. Not exactly my thing (I'm down for the gay stuff...hear me wolf, just not down for the giant party scene) but it seems to be a good time for all and a fun event.

Outside of Key West, Wilton Manors is known as the gay city in my part of Broward County down here...and also the part of my locality that's known as the cleanest and nicest...probably not a coincidence.

Anyway I'm gladd (see what I did there) they had a good time!

"And were glad glad glad that you're alive. And we're glad glad glad that you're a glide."

I met her in an office down in Colorado
Where AM radio plays classic rock songs like "Layla"
L-A-Y-L-A Layla
I walked up to her with my partner Ted
I asked her her name and in a tolerant voice she said, "Clela"
C-L-E-L-A
Cle Cle Cle Cle Clela

Florida teachers and principals are going to extremes to avoid being punished under the state's "Don't Say Gay" law. This is really ridiculous.

I say fuck dat. The law pertains to curriculum (lesson plans). It's not a dress code policy, or a classroom decoration policy. Teachers should not be running scared.

In fact, I'm pretty sure none of the offending topics are in the curriculum either (for anything up to 3rd or 4th grade). But teachers were prepared to answer any questions that a 1st grader may come to school with. And now that is restricted.

It's like Critical Race Theory. It's not part of any grade school curriculum, and none of the people banning it have the faintest idea wtf it is. You just can't give-in to this imaginary bullshit.

And here is the origin of the expression "tie the knot":

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, millions of Americans started fearing that the Court might someday outlaw same-sex marriage, interracial marriage and contraception. Those fears are justified.

Senator Ted Cruz said the Supreme Court wrongly decided Obergefell, the ruling that legalized same-sex marriage

If they take gay marriage away from us gays. Prepare for a war.

Dumb question. If they are stupid enough to do that, would that just be for new marriages or would/can they revoke already granted marriages?

I would probably think any new marriages and possibly let any state ban gay marriage. Like many years ago, it was finally allowed in certain states and that's how I feel it might be like that again.

So if you have the wrong opinion (like being gay is a sin) but don't treat gay ppl differently because of those opinions aren't u allowed to have and speak that opinion? W/o fear of losing standing in society?

We all normal ppl are allowed to disagree and think less of someone who thinks that way but we shouldn't treat them differently either.

We don't have to be friends w ppl who have clearly misguided morals but if we gotta deal w them in public we treat everyone as an equal.

Idk...I've been watching the wilds on prime and one of the girls is a fundamentalist who says being gay is a sin...but she's nice to everyone, gay characters included. She gets ostracized from the group cause she shared that opinion....it just made me think.

Maybe I'm wrong? Idk. What do u all think?

First, we need to separate personal opinions from the actions of lawmakers. People who attempt to fuck with our rights are different from those who simply express their views.

That being said, each of us has the right to feel however we want about people who express their opinions. The idea that I have to accept a person's opinion because it's their right to express it is bullshit. If someone tells me he likes didling little boys, I don't have to say "well, you're entitled to your opinion". Have the self-awareness to realize that's not something to share.

Likewise, if you are brainwashed to think that being gay is a sin, then just keep it to yourself. But if you declare it, be prepared to be hated. If you treat gay people nicely, but keep your bigoted thoughts to yourself, there's no harm.

I specifically didn't add like voting or how politics are in play with those opinions for a reason. I'm trying to say ur allowed to have the wrong opinion and it not ruin ur life.

Now fucking kids and being gay...or relating them in any way, is an old troupe ur better than scotch.

But yea if some guy says he should be allowed to f 12 year Olds that's an opinion...an opinion that makes me want to stay away from him but if he doesn't actually do it and keeps it to himself it shouldn't effect his social standing.

F idk what I'm talking abt really here. I guess I'm just saying ur allowed to be wrong so long as u being wrong doesn't physically hurt or effect the rights of others.

It's ok to hurt ppls feelings and get them upset with ur views.

Just don't trample on rights or physical wellbeing.

I guess that's what I'm saying.
