Gay News

just found this link via drudge and the article made me happy.

Ind. to ‘clarify’ new law decried as anti-gay - The Washington Post

glad to see the backlash coming in fast and strong.

Religious institutions can't be forced to admit non-members. If a bakery wants to keep gays out it can make its own religion and say straight people are members. Same for race. We let religions do all kinds of crazy shit.

that makes sense. religious institutions do get crazy privileges. but that got me thinking of another example. how come some restaurants can refuse service due to a dress code? i can kinda understand the no shirt/shoes deal cause the average person does not walk around bare foot/chested, but what about some places that require a sport coat for dinner? how can they get away with that i wonder? the rules about what private businesses can and cant do confuse me.

Arkansas has been backwards for years. Just look at the West Memphis 3 case.

This is the reason why Arkansas is backwards!

How does it make you a sinner if you allow a gay couple to dine in your restaurant? Wouldn't it be a sin to deny them a meal? What would Jesus do?

so indiana changed the law a bit. seems like a step in the right direction.

Indiana governor approves changes to religious freedom law | Fox News

from the article...

The revised legislation prohibits providers from using the law as a legal defense for refusing to provide services, goods, facilities or accommodations. It also bars discrimination based on factors that include race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or United States military service.

in other news i read that the pizza place that made those dumb comments has now raised 500k from a go fund me or one of those sites. that got me thinking about how easily i would sell out my morals for a payday. im pretty sure if i was able to get a half million i would go around saying the exact opposite of what i really believe.

So they passed a law to let businesses discriminate against gays, then they fixed the law so businesses can't discriminate against gays. So what does the law do now?

The real question is, why was any law proposed in the first place? Whenever someone introduces a law to fix a non-existent problem, you have to look the real agenda; which in this case is a last-ditch effort to push back at the wave of inevitability washing over the country.

Hang on a second--gay marriage is dudes marrying dudes? I thought it was either a really happy wedding, or some chicks giving the shag carpet a steam cleaning. I'm totally against this. I need to delete a bunch of posts. Ooh. Gross. What is wrong with people...
