Gay News

Does that include amendments, or do they still want slavery and no women voting? I'm always confused, because they love the 2nd amendment, but not the right to abortion amendment.

thats true and i agree but the other side gets a up in arms about freedom of speech/expression. both sides pick and chose the parts of the constitution they like to get on their pedestal about.

People don't seem to realize that this is purely a civil law issue; states are issuing civil licenses, there's no religious component to it. Most of the arguments against same-sex marriage pertain to the recognition of marriage by religious entities, so it appears that opponents are fighting the wrong battle when they try to ban a civil law.

I've always thought becoming a legally united couple should be a government issue, and a marriage should be a religious issue. If you want to be a legally united couple, go to the courthouse. If you want to be married, go to church. Or do both. Just don't confuse the two.

Not marriage, but an anti discrimination bill, in Alabama, no less.

Will Alabama pass the Tim Cook bill? - Dec. 4, 2014

Every state, should have this type of bill. But technically if a company fires somebody for being gay a lawsuit would be on there hands, because it would be considered discrimination. I know years ago, a coworker didn't get along with me because he found out I was gay, so we simply never talk each other, plus he was a bit of a jerk and not much people didn't get along with him. Specially the manager and she was a lesbian. So she kinda made his work life hectic and after a while he finally quit.

Fla. courthouses won't hold weddings to avoid marrying gays - NY Daily News

this kinda sucks but the big picture is much better. at least marriage will be legal, even if a few counties wont do the ceremonies, they will still issue the licenses. the AG down here is really trying to stop it but shes beginning to crack cause its a losing battle. its weird how this state is made up. the southern half is super liberal and the north is conservative. where u run into problems is the orlando/tampa area. they go both ways.

Florida. The only state in the Union (hehe. Union) where the further North you go, the more Southern it gets.
