I removed those 2 songs from his list and will count his rankings accordingly.

We now have 536 songs with my list and Wolf's still outstanding. I will be at least a week still on mine.

Charted in 1990. Hit #1 in the spring. Was all over radio the rest of the year
Was reading the Wiki and it clearly says released in 1989 and charted in 1989. But it looks like the Americans were slow to the party and peaked in Billboard in 1990. If you guys got your shit together we wouldn't have these sort of problems. I will re-add.

Black Velvet debuted at #86 on the Hot 100 for the week ending January 6 1990 (which began on December 31 1989). That chart was based on sales and airplay data from December 15 to December 22 1989 and was published on Billboard's website on December 26.

From #86, Black Velvet moved to 80, 69, 54, 39, 28, 20, 12, 9, 4, 2, 1, 1, 5, 10, 14, 25, 28, 29, 41, 51, 69, 71, 90, off.

My list probably won't be ranked in time. I plan on cutting a few songs from the list.

On the bright side, now that the majority of my major project at work is finished, I can get back to working on my list again.

May I add: Just pick 20 James Brown songs at random or 20 Destiny's Child songs at random. Nobody can tell the difference.
I was in Houston when Destiny's Child's career started. I would definitely be voting for their songs.

Now, if you want to add 20 Mariah Carey songs, then their opponents will be advancing to the next round.

BANGIN list dude!

This song was released 88 and charted in 89 tho.
Thanks!

And, I grabbed a wiki list of songs that charted in the 90's and didn't bother to check when the songs were actually released.
Then I went for the list of album releases before I browsed through my MP3's. I didn't bother going through my CD's that still need to be re-ripped.

Fo your amazement and amusement, here is White Town's Your Woman, which peaked at #23 on the May 3 1997 Hot 100:

And here is the song it samples, My Woman by Al Bowlly & Lew Stone's Monseigneur Band, recorded in 1932 and released as a single in 1933:
