Who knows I might look for a new TV provider soon. Because DirecTV Now about to fuck over it's customers. Raising there fees again by $10 bucks, getting less channels soon.

DIRECTV NOW Will Reportedly Raise its Price $10 a Month Next Week & Launch 2 New Packages - Cord Cutters News

Here Is Every Channel DIRECTV NOW Plus & DIRECTV NOW MAX Offer - Cord Cutters News

A quick glance at the list shows AMC, Discovery, Scripps, and Viacom owned networks are being removed from DIRECTV NOW’s new package. This means no more Comedy Central, BBC America, TLC, etc on DIRECTV NOW once they switch over to these new packages. It is important to remember if you have DIRECTV NOW you will reportedly get to keep your current package but new customers will be limited to the Plus and Max packages.

It's official today DirecTV Now started their new packages. You get fewer channels while they raised their fees. But they created a grandfathered plan and current customers are locked in at there current packages and won't lose any channels. But my current plan of $40 a month plan will go by $10 next month which I get over 105+ channels.

I'm kinda lucky I will still have access to all the AMC, Discovery, Scripps, and Viacom channels. There was a bigger package at one time which included El Rey, Boomerang and the Starz channels. But I hardly watched them but I wouldn't mind having the El Rey network. But if DirecTV Now raises their fees again within another year. I'll probably start looking elsewhere.

AT&T Restores DIRECTV NOW's $25 Go Big Discount For Grandfathered Subscribers - Cord Cutters News

The customers complained and received there $25 discount plan back. As long as I don't change my plan, everything will stay the same for me.

I'm already trying to save money now. I canceled Apple Music because I listen to SiriusXM more.

I’ll probably cancel the WWE network next month after WrestleMania. For the past couple of years the WWE hasn’t had anything original anymore. Same boring matches and very predictable matches. The only good thing going on the WWE network is NXT.

I've never tried Apple Music but would assume SiriusXM is better. I don't follow wrestling or WWE anymore but will always be proud to say I was a wrestling fan. I even did a leadership presentation on Vince McMahon a few months ago.

Depends on what you'd call better. If you like any song, on demand at any time, Apple Music is good for that. If you like a little music discovery (although Apple Music has playlists for just that sort of thing) and some human interaction, then SiriusXM is good for that. Only drawback is the 'human interaction' part means hearing promos for things I don't care about.

I consider the SiriusXM on my Roku as part of my Cord Cutter package. I can bring up the Goriila & Bear Show, the Mary Sue Show, Playing Favorites, even sports or the Howard Stern interviews at my in home convenience. If I'm listening on the car radio, then I don't. That way I'm seeing it as paying for the service for my radio but getting the service free on my Roku. I'm sure the Apple Music services is good. Can't say I've used it or how much it is. Like Wolf, it comes down to the cost in having the best entertainment over cable, and of course the free time to enjoy it all.

I see CBS will be having a new show that kind've sounds like "The Running Man", the movie with Richard Dawson and Arnold Scwartzeneger. Million Dollar Mile hosted by Tim Tebow. To win, you run through a mile course in Los Angeles with obstacles and a team of trained athletes that or trying to eliminate you. If I watch, it will be on demand
through CBS access

Speaking of Arnold Schwarzinager, the Roku channel is now carrying all three Expendables movies. I saw the first one, but will watch again as well as watching the other two.

That's not a game show. Let them run a mile in East L.A. and see how far they will get. Now that would be a game show. :D

Apple music isn't bad, it's almost the same as SiriusXM but without all the talk and sports channels. One thing nice on Apple music you can listen to just about every song, album, artists out there. Which SiriusXM doesn't let you. That's the thing pay $9.99 a month for Apple Music vs whatever the price is on SiriusXM.

Me personally I rather pay $9.99, but right now Sirius XM has a good deal. Which is why I ditch Apple music for a while.

Coincidentally, I was just looking at prices for streaming options the other day. That's because we have a local "community dialogue" where people go and bitch about our Spectrum cable. I've had an excellent experience with them; I got a great installation of my new cable from the street into my home, and I get 100mb/s internet plus all the cable and premium channels for less than Comcast.

But some parts of my town have old houses with old cable, so the service is slow and flaky and people complain. I get info on all the alternative options from reading their posts. If I did YouTube TV, I'd need to add Philo to get close to the channels I have now. That's $70/mo for both, plus I need HBO and Showtime, and I currently get Cinemax and Starz too. That will bring me to $100, and then I need internet service for $70/mo, so now I'm at $170 - which is what I pay now - and I still won't get all the local and regional channels I have now. Plus there's the hassle of having multiple sources to switch.

It seems like people either
A) Streamline their viewing to focus on on-demand services, like Netflix, Hulu, Prime (although I have these too).
B) Kid themselves into thinking they're saving money when they're not.

or
C) Under-value what their time is worth.
The time it takes to switch sources, browse for content, and manage subscriptions and whatnot is worth something to me.

There is some value to the one source convenience factor to me.

Disney+ will launch November 12 and cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 for a full year. That's cheaper than Netflix and cheaper than Amazon Prime Video. (Those fees are supposed to sound much much lower than $7 and $70 but they're not fooling anyone.) Disney+ will offer 500 movies and more than 7,500 television episodes. Disney+ will eventually produce at least ten new movies and specials and 50 original series. Is anyone here planning to subscribe? Mrs. 98 and I are thinking about doing so. It would be fun to see the original Mickey Mouse Club and all the Wonderful World Of Disney movies and Christmas specials that have never been re-run.

I wonder if the new streaming service will include Song Of The South. The 1946 film, adapted from Joel Chandler Harris' "Uncle Remus" stories, is not racist or offensive or pro-slavery – but because many Americans think it is, Disney has never released it on video, DVD or Blu-ray in the United States.

Maybe. Both Wolf and I subscribe to ESPN Plus and I like it. Also Hulu so I like what Disney offers. If they show Wonderful World of Disney they should have "For The Love of Willadean" I haven't seen that in like 50 years.
