There's a corner of the upstairs bathroom where the roof slopes, which makes a good spot for the litter boxes. But the cats like jumping on us right after they poop; it's one of the highlights of their day.

Don't know if I mentioned this already, but they've been encouraging employees to volunteer to work part-time from home. I'll be doing 2 to 3 days a week. Got a desk from IKEA. Here's how it came

We have a few people who do that at work, either incredibly fit, or have back issues. If I stand on my feet for hours, I get a backache, so I'll be sitting.

Right now, we're in a wave of (possibly) unprecedented hiring, so we've run out of office space. My nice window office with high walls and a door is being repurposed for 2 new hires. I'm moving to a modest cube that's shared with a guy who's never there, as he mostly works in a different building.

But they've been encouraging a certain percent of the employees to do "flex work" for a while now, for that work-life balance and all that crap. Actually, it improves productivity for people who either have a long commute or have dropoffs/ pickups of kids etc. Because you can work more if the commute is eliminated. I normally get into the office at 7:15 - 7:30, but I started at 6:30 today.
