Dude, it's just a commonly used term, chill. It's like you're interpreting the bible or something. I don't get royalties from the proper use of musical categories, so it's not a big deal either way. It's just a comment of yours that I recalled.
Christ, someone answers your question and you bite their head off.

OH H.....EYE OH
I took my little IMX2 speaker dock (for the XM MyFi) to an indoor cornhole tournament last night. Everyone loved it as I rotated between the Bridge and Classic Rewind. I am still a SAT Radio Addict!

Didn't mean to sound snappy, he seemed to be on a rant. Maybe I should've used a gentler font.

That's just memebag. He holds no personal ill will towards you. He just has a lot of certainty about his beliefs. We've grown to tolerate and even enjoy his quirks. In small doses.

Bravo! I think indoor cornhole was one of HecticArt's fraternity initiations, but it didn't involve a bag of corn...:(

I'm not upset. I just don't understand the category. If you played me 100 songs I'd never heard before I could pick out the country songs, the reggae, rocksteady and ska, the baroque, the juju, the bluegrass, etc., but I wouldn't have the first clue about how to identify the "alternative" songs.

Damn Goreds, that's an old ass Delphi device. That reminds me of 2005 and shiz. I shouldn't talk, I still rock my Inno, multiple home docks, car dock, Belkin white water proof boombox. Only serious addicts allowed.

The wife and are both rocking the old Sportster Replays. Got the boom boxes too. Got them back in 2005.

The sportster replays were pretty tough. I like the portability and record functions of the Inno. I miss the blue backlight of the sirius stuff. So strange looking.

I have found myself listening to more satrad recently in the car. They seemed to have made huge improvements on Classic Rewind. Less obscure crap and more good songs which were actually hits. That is my goto channel and I am very happy it can be that again.

They go in cycles from more mainstream to deeper tracks. It keeps things interesting for me. I think it helps keep the familiar songs from getting tired by hearing them too much.

I have to temper my excitement about the improved programming (noted above) with the following rant. All of the channels I regularly listen to are doing a non-stop "best of the year" countdown, in which the introduction of each song is accompanied by a lame 1-minute interview clip with the band about their "experiences" writing the song. And that's on top of the usual 30-second promo clip for the channel, and countdown, and facebook page, and tour info, and on-demand feature. I'm paying every month to hear MUSIC, not mindless babbling - for Christ's sake, JUST PLAY MUSIC!

Dood...I've been on vacation, so I've had the tv on more than the radio.
I'd go nuts with that much talk while I'm working.
I've got 6 or 7 more go to stations, but damn.
I'm with you, I want music on my music channels.

Crap! Now that you mentioned it, I checked my other favorites - 1st Wave, the classic rock stations - and just realized that the Classic College Radio online channel is gone! Well that sucks.

At least one of the classic rock channels makes it known that they broadcast from the RRHOF, which justifies these snippets of chat, interviews, and tour info. I got it - every classic rock band is touring, all the time, all over the country.

I do appreciate when the DJ provides info about a new band on XMU or Alt Nation. But I don't need to hear about how Journey formed 40 years ago, or what inspired one of their 40 year old songs. Mark Goodman is really big on telling inane stories to fill time, like when he was unexpectedly stuck in traffic somewhere 30 years ago, to later find out that U2 was passing through the area. But I'd say that Richard Blade is the worst. Between each song, he tells a story, reminds us about Facebook and Twitter, lists what's coming up on the sports channels, explains how to use on-demand, lists tour dates, and on and on. And then there's the ever annoying Madison. I get it, she's loud and obnoxious. It's a one-note bit that I grew tired of, many years ago. OK, rant over.

I'm burnt out on the Holiday channels like Holiday Traditions and Navidad, they started to early but I like how the shows like Mary Sue, Dick Golden, Miller Time, Cool Bobby B had their holiday shows last weekend.
I also like channels like Real Jazz are playing half christmas, half regular music now.

Today was the first I listened to Holly. The Mrs has been listening for weeks.
I could have waited till tomorrow, but took the Mrs to see the Cirque du Soleil Christmas show, so it seemed fitting.
