Celebrity death thread 2026

Slave formed in 1975 in Dayton, Ohio. Slide, their first single, went to number one on Billboard's R&B chart and #32 on the Hot 100 in July 1977. Steve Washington and two other members left in 1979 to form Aurra with singer Curt Jones and keyboardist Philip Fields. Among Aurra's R&B hits are Make Up Your Mind, Such A Feeling, Are You Single, A Little Love and In The Mood To Groove.

Chuck Negron, Danny Hutton and Cory Wells formed Redwood in 1967 in Los Angeles. A year later, they took the name Three Dog Night, a reference to very cold nights in the Australian outback when a person would stay warm at night by having three dogs sleep next to him. Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive top-40 hits, 1969-75, including three number ones, Mama Told Me Not To Come, Joy To The World and Black & White. Among their other hits are One, Easy To Be Hard, Eli's Coming, Celebrate, Liar, Shambala, Never Been To Spain, The Show Must Go On and An Old Fashioned Love Song.

I will second. "Little Star" is a wonderful song. I hear it frequently on the Cool Bobby B show and saw the group perform it in the movie "Joey"

Washington Senators reserve third baseman Eddie Yost was batting .192 in 1952 when he was selected by American League manager Casey Stengel as a reserve for the All Star Game. The game, played at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, was halted after five innings because of rain. The National League won 3-2 – and Yost never got to play. Poor baby!

Thanx. I was just wondering what the result of the 1952 all star game was.

Here is a 1980 live performance of Little Star by the Elegants with lead singer Vito Picone as the only original member:
