He played Maxwell Donahue, who had portrayed a TV superhero named Atomic Man and was now accused of murdering a movie director. Janis played Fred McConnell in 53 episodes of Mork & Mindy (1978-82). He also appeared in multiple episodes of Quark, Frasier, Suspense, St. Elsewhere and Murder She Wrote and in several movies including Roseland, Beyond Glory, The Cable Guy and The Buddy Holly Story.
