All I wanted was some steak
They probably just wanted this to get out of the limelight. That’s a shit ton of money but I was hoping it would go to trial.

They probably got off cheaper, and can spin it any way they want now. Dominion didn’t win! We didn’t lose! They probably just wanted this to get out of the limelight.
Duh….You are correct, Mister Hectic.
PISSES ME OFF!! Just like big pharma. Make $100 billion with a dangerous psychiatric medication, pay the $1 billion fee for being evil. Big pharma wins. The lawyers win. And the average Joe mourns the loss of their kid, whether it was killing himself or a victim of the neighborhood someone shot up.For Fox, the nine-figure payout has turned out to be the cost of doing business
Agree there is some truth to all of these statements, but the article highlights the most abusive situations; it's not representative of the majority of cases. The meds aren't off the market, but their side effects (psychotic episodes, suicidal behavior) are well known. Also, some testing is skewed to make a drug seem safer than it really is so it can be approved. Plus pharm companies pushing for off-label use. There's too much to try and post here (especially in the wrong thread), but this recent NYT article covers it well if you have a few minutes to really dig into it.

This Teen Was Prescribed 10 Psychiatric Drugs. She’s Not Alone. (Published 2022)
Increasingly, anxious and depressed teens are using multiple, powerful psychiatric drugs, many of them untested in adolescents or for use in tandem.www.nytimes.com
Nope. Too far. We can disagree without putting words in my mouth, right? Fact remains: big pharma is corrupt (like many big businesses) and have been proven to act in their best interests > public's best interests over and over again. Not every move. But trillions of dollars of blood money.all the doctors in the world who are in the field of mental health are part of a secret society
Me too. Jordan Klepper does a great job interviewing those idiots. But I also hate when people say, "Today's experts know it all and have it right." Think of all the people locked in mental institutions like Bedlam back in the day (and even into the 1900s). Those experts were really onto something, if torture and death is considered a cure. How many parents were told "We're the experts, and the best thing to do is send them to an institution." Please tell me you already know the horror stories of those hellholes. Again, not saying every institution was a hellhole, but so many destroyed lives...I have a disdain for the act of of going on the internet to research something totally out of one's field of knowledge, and forming an instant conclusion
Absolutely. And I would do the same. But if a psychiatrist recommended shock therapy (expert!) or lobotomy (expert!), fucking forget it. Shove your degree up your ASS! In fact, I'll do it for you! When I had my heart attack and needed surgery, I'm glad to have been cared for by doctors and nurses who were experts in their professions
