"Who sang Who Are You?" "Yes." "Yes sang Who Are You?" "Yes did not sing that song!" "Well then, who did?" "Yes." "You just said they didn't. Look, all I want to know is who sang Who Are You." "Who sang it!" "What are ya askin' me for?"

Country-rock singer Gretchen Wilson and Guess Who/Bachman-Turner Overdrive co-founder Randy Bachman recorded the song for Who Are You: An All-Star Tribute To The Who, released October 2, 2012.

1. Exile - Kiss You All Over

Some comments:

LDD: Shaun Cassidy - Hey Deanie

The letter that went with this LDD to Shaun Cassidy was pure stalker mentality although she was only 14 or something. If AT40 was being made today they would not have aired this letter.

30. Stonebolt - I Will Still Love You

I know we had a discussion on Stonebolt here at some point. When I hear one of the 3 or 4 countdowns which have Stonebolt in the top 40 I chuckle. This is the last week it is on the countdown. It rose from 32 to 30 and falls out of the 40 next week.

Archive: Guess Who - American Woman Canadian

Another Canadian hit. There seem to be a lot of them in this week's countdown.

Archive: Ray Stevens - Everything is Beautiful

I would have thought Ray Stevens was a novelty 1 hit wonder for "The Streak". He had several hits including the above #1. I have heard the above song before but never made the connection between the artist.

Ray Stevens has had nine top-40 hits and two number ones (Everything Is Beautiful, The Streak) on the Billboard Hot 100. On the country chart, he's had 14 top-40 hits and three top-ten hits. His first top-40 hit, Jeremiah Peabody's Poly Unsaturated Quick Dissolving Fast Acting Pleasant Tasting Green & Purple Pills – say that five times fast! – peaked at #35 in September 1961. By the way, the children who sing on Everything Is Beautiful are Stevens' two daughters Suzi and Timi and the second-grade class of Oak Hill Elementary School in Nashville.

Bob Stone wrote Gypsys, Tramps & White Trash. Cher wanted to record the song but Snuff Garrett, her producer, didn't like the title and asked Stone to change it. It became Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves. Garrett should have also asked Stone to spell "Gypsies" correctly. The song has been recorded by more than 50 artists. A few, including Vikki Carr, the Chartbusters, the Anti-Nowhere League and the Ray Conniff Singers, spelled the title correctly. Lisa Loeb recorded Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves for the 2005 CD An All Star Tribute To Cher. In 2007, she released the song on a three-track EP and spelled it correctly – but added an unnecessary comma.
