Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow was Tom Jones' first song to make the Billboard country chart – and it went to number one in February 1977. Among the other pop artists who made the country chart that year: Jimmy Buffett, Dr. Hook, Engelbert Humperdinck, James Taylor, Mary MacGregor, Rita Coolidge, Ruth Buzzi, Duane Eddy and Chuck Woolery. Yes, that Chuck Woolery.

Tom Jones would have nine more top-40 country hits. Here is his final one, a 1985 remake of Faron Young's 1972 number-one It's Four In The Morning. He sounds as though he's in pain.

I recall getting a K-Tel album as a gift (I think with a stereo system) in Xmas 1977 I think. It was called "Superstars of the 100th year". Most of these cheesy songs like "Torn Between Two Lovers" that show up on your WORST I RECOGNIZE list were on it. This album was one of my first exposures to pop music so these songs although far from "good" hold a special place in my heart. Below is the track list:
