Yup. Hell, Sirius XM couldn't even air the FM show LIVE on another channel. What about 108 or 104?

I just read through most of the 8 pages of posts.
It seems SiriusXM shafted Bubba. He had no choice but to sign, if he wanted more money.
I bet he also got more money due to syndication.
The BRN deserves more money. It's too bad SiriusXM gives their money to people who don't deserve it.

He acts like SiriXM is stealing his show! Here's ANOTHER option - tell them no, go to terrestrial exclusively (or better yet, see what you're REALLY worth and do a podcast), and let your fans be mad at the big bad corporation instead of you. Rather than do that, he sold himself - and his fans - out for what is probably not a lot of money.

There's just no reason to do this. No one - not his fans, and not people who don't listen to him anyway - want to hear a terrestrial radio show on satrad. How does either side win in this? And this entire shit show is going down on something Howard's name is on? Welcome to the revolution.

What is going to happen when the inevitable FCC fine comes down and he gets fired from terrestrial? Maybe he'll come back and make satellite radio look even more like a graveyard for DJs who can't get other jobs. Other than Howard coming over at the top of his game, their inability/unwillingness to hire REAL radio personalities really makes the whole service feel like second-tier when it comes to talk programming. It's hard to get people to pay $13 a month for second-tier talk radio and commercial free music that they can pretty much get for free via podcasts and itunes with their iPods.

Bubba gets paid for not doing anything for SiriusXM (maybe a live Friday show).

Actually, the more I think about it, its a win for SiriXM. They've succeeded in making Bubba the bad guy. Now when they cancel him, no one will complain. Brilliant strategy, and Bubba took it hook-line-and-sinker for some peanuts.

Actually, I think Bubba comes out the winner. He gets paid by Sirius for 2 years without dying of exhaustion. He also gets to continue his work on conquering terrestrial radio (whether he is successful or not will be seen). People can cancel their subs, he still gets paid. If Sirius drops his show, I'm betting his contract says he still gets paid.
And even though I might not like the particulars 100%, I also win more than I lose -- I can still listen to Bubba *IN MY CAR* on the ride home.
And actually, yes, I'd pay for Bubba content. Just because he's not everyone's cup of tea doesn't mean he's nobody's cup of tea.

People are into all kinds of things, but that's not how you sell ads. You want things that ARE everyone's cup of tea, and clearly SiriXm doesn't think he is.
Ultimately, you're right; Bubba does get much more than he deserves. He was never a national radio personality, nor national-level talent. No matter what he's paid for a replay of his FM show, its more than he's worth, and he still gets national exposure he could never get anywhere else. But ultimately, he's heading back to where he came from, as SiriXM clearly did this so they could get rid of him gently - a velvet noose, so to speak. By agreeing to it, Bubba helped them slip it around his neck. Who new Tallahase (or where ever the fuck he lives) was so expensive that you needed millions of dollars a year to live there? He must need the money pretty bad.
